That's not how corporations work, at least not successful ones. You don't just go, "Fire this guy and try someone else and see how that goes" and expect to have long-term success.
- jmatchett383

So you think the flyers are currently successful?

Yes and no. I've worked for corporations for over 12 years now. Led as many as 800 people. Addition by subtraction can work as you search for a long term solution. We recently let go a high ranking executive team member and it took us 3 months to replace. But we lured away a hell of a hire from a major competitor. We also were able to sort through the mess he was making while we searched.

I blame Hak you don't play a goalie with the injury history he has in a back to back especially since this team was losing that game with or without him in the crease. Bad goalie management once again.

Or perhaps Justin Pogge was never going to be that good.
- MJL

Possibly but you could argue handling him the way they did is what lead to that outcome in the first place. Right now Carter Hart is in the same place as Pogge was back then unproven and he could very well turn out the same way as Pogge did unfortunately. I don't want to be pessimistic but the way the Flyers are handling this and the way this team has been playing of late I expect them to get blown out tomm night with Hart in net .

In all seriousness guys, let's just hope for the best. To me, this is the best case scenario:

Hart plays tomorrow, and both he and the team play well. Even if they don't win, he gives up 3 or less goals, and makes a few nice saves along the way.

After that, he's returned to the Phantoms, which was already explained to him, as the Flyers either make a trade or recall Lyon.

Heard of Justin Pogge? Was claimed to be the next Brodeur by most people in hockey. Was amazing for Canada at the WJC's just like Hart. Leafs called him up to early when they were a bad team lost 7 or 8 to nothing with him in net and shattered the kids confidence and they ruined him due to not waiting like you are supposed to with a goalies development. Not saying that can happen with Hart but it might the way this team is playing right now.

I mean I absolutely want to see this kid come in and light it up. I'll be there to cheer him on. But if not that's okay too hes 20 and all hope is not lost if hes back in Allentown come the weekend.

I would argue that if one game can ruin a goalie, then he didn't have the mental makeup to be a good NHL goalie.

In sticking with an earlier analogy, I’d like to say I am excited to see Aaron Nola pitch every game for the Phillies next year. If he is our best pitcher than he should start every game.

No but Hart is a kid and he's not ready so handling him in this manner is a dumb move. But what do I know let the game tomm speak for itself. I've seen goalies get ruined this exact way before and if we should realize anything it's that the past lends a hand in predicting what the future may hold. Good on the Flyers for throwing this kid into the mess this season though, gotta sell tickets right .

The Flyers must be idiots, you have the dude running their Twitter account tweeting out pictures of Carter Hart's stall in the dressing room. What the (frank) are you guys doing, just put more pressure on the kid. This is going to turn out bad I just have a feeling.
- FreshFlyer

I get the impression that the Flyers Twitter person is kept in a windowless room with an internet connection that only allows Twitter posts to go out and nothing is allowed in.

Oh, and Nearer, My God, to Thee is piped into the room so no outside sounds can be heard.

When you have any doubts whatsoever in your info, whether it be a coach or player, signing with your team, you shut your mouth. Better side with caution. Somebody screwed up severely whether it be in the Flyers organization or in the media. It wouldn't surprise me either way. Snider left this organization in a shambles when he passed away, whether he got rich off of it (which he did) or not.

I don't even know what taking the team hostage means. He was the GM. If that means that Hextall was going to do things his way and not Holmgren's way, then yea, I think that's right.
- MJL

He was the GM. Didn't mean he didn't have a boss.

You can't keep saying your plan will work when your current roster isn't showing the improvement you stated was needed.

And then if the bosses ask for answers you can't not have any or say your plan will work.

Chip kelly took the Eagles hostage. he made it seem that the eagles were his team and he could do whatever he wants. A gm can do that to a degree. but you can't make the bosses feel like they aren't the bosses....especially when your last in the division and young players are regressing.

BREAKING
Reports saying Joel Quennville has no intention of making a coaching decision until at least this offseason.

The main roster has almost exactly the same mix as last year's 98 point team.

So Hakstol was not fired last night or this morning.. Any word if Dave Isaac was fired today?

Has the Hart era begun? Hope he doesn't lose confidence in his game once this defense hangs him out to dry. Or when he gets sent back down again just because of "numbers" or "timing".

I don't blame Dave Isaac as much as I blame someone in the organization. Nobody in the Flyers organization had to say anything to Isaac. There lies the problem...a clueless idiot in the organization.

Does anyone think that this circus could actually drive Coach Q away? Like, if he was considering it, could this be the kind of sideshow that makes him reconsider?
