Theyre in a position of strength at the wing and we're in a position of strength at G.
You have to give to get. A good trade is one that helps both sides and hurts both sides a little bit. - Der Kaiser
You bring up a couple good points.
Fletcher is the guy who jbotts worked with in Pittsburgh
Also traded with for pommer and scandella.
If he's not still bitter about giving pommer away, he could definitely be a good trade partner.
Hagg or the other young defenseman possibly? Provorov is probably untouchable. Maybe gudas??????? |

If you trade Ullmark, you should be. - HonkFortheGoose
Botts likes Johansson
doubt Ullmark gets moved any time soon but Johansson would be the call up if anything long term happens to either goalie |

So long as he's not here, I'm good with it. It was an odd move to call him up IMO to begin with. I know Guhle hasn't had the best start this year, but Borgen has been really good down there, so why not give him a shot?
Just seemed like a head scratching move to bring Tennyson in when you've got some young guys that have a shot of being long term players for the organization. - HonkFortheGoose
I don't think they ever intended to play Tennyson, and so they'd rather have Borgen playing in Rochester for the week instead of eating hot dogs and popcorn in the lounge and watching the game. |

I don't have anything against Johansson, but he has pretty little time even at the AHL level at this point. It would be nice to ease him in a bit more. No clue how he'd do at the NHL level yet. Though Ullmark did get thrown in a few years ago too, so maybe he'd be fine.
It's also interesting to me that at this point he's only 2 years younger than Ullmark and seems to just finally be getting some decent AHL time. |

I thought that at first as well, but they sent him back down after the Florida roadtrip and then recalled him for the Philly game. Clearly when they recalled him the second time they knew he was going to play. |

Who would replace bogo's mean streak if he goes down from an injury?
I know it's highly unlikely ( bogo injury) - Boss34
I dont' really care who does it. Gudas doesn't even belong in the NHL to begin with. I want nothing to do with him wearing the blue and gold. |

Pilut isn't going anywhere, neither are 3 1st round picks
The only time in my life I will say I agree with Harrington - Stripes77
The StL 1st rounder should definitely be off limits
I’d be open to moving the others as long as it wasn’t for rentals |

Toughness isn’t that useful if the guy isn’t very good
Idc if we have someone who beats up the other team if we are losing 4-1
Now if the guy is tough,
AND
a good player...
Ok, now we’re talking |

Wow, some crazy-ass trade proposals/spitballs out there. I hope Pilut, UPL, Goalofson and the 3 firsts are off the table no matter what. Keep this team's cupboard full, JB!
I really like Sheary's game, too. There's been a few games where he's stunk it up but love his speed ,energy and his back-checking is best on this team. I would take 2 more Shearys in place of 21 and 29 if given the choice.
Bogo has been such a pleasant surprise this year....finally.
If JB can somehow get 6, 21 and 29 out the door (even if the return is a tub of hair grease from Peter Laviolette) it would be incredible. - LandlordTom
Sheary has got to start scoring more though
So weird that he & Mitts can’t seem to get it going |

Did he actually go back to Rochester, or was it a paper move to save cap? |

Honestly, does it matter? If they knew that they were going to need someone for the weekend, they had better options. Instead they played him in 4 games. And, they clearly knew he couldn't hang just based on his ice time against LA.
It's probably the one head scratching move they've made this season. I also get the whole "we don't want to decimate Rochester" but at the end of the day, that team feeds the NHL team. The NHL teams success should be first and foremost. I'd understand a bit if the NHL team was AWFUL and the AHL one was killing it, but both are doing well. And if you have to sacrifice one for another, it should be the AHL team sacrificed for the NHL team. |

I don't know if this was posted or not. But I just remembered all the discussion around "Culture" on these boards. I think this article sums it up best. Culture, in the way I'm betting JB is trying to build it, is based not upon a low scoring grinder that brings it every shift, but the expectation that all will bring their very best each game. WE will accept nothing less than full effort within your skill set. You still need talent to win.
What I love to see, is that Jack right now....he's doing BOTH.....and it's rubbing off on the other players.
Culture is the set of shared beliefs, values, and norms of an organization. It's just great to see insane talent coupled with continuous effort....and it's effect on the entire team.

That's great news, that sounds like a deal can be reached pretty easily.
They have to sign him, he's on pace for 30 just after the new year (I think). |
