U see that grin that Skinner gets on his face when he scores?
He looks like he’s really loving it here

I’m not too worried about him getting signed
Especially if the ask is only 9mil from them

They’ll probably just settle between 8-8.5
That works for me

And then being able to add a guy like Stone in free agency would be huge for us

Maybe he re-aggravated whatever took him out of the Sabres game, because that is very odd.

Now that Botts knows when the expansion draft is gonna be,
I’m sure he’s got that in the back of his head as far as making moves & who he plans on protecting/leaving unprotected

If we were to go 7-3-1,
right now I’d say:

Goalies
-to be determined

Forwards- for sure
-Eichel, Skinner, Reinhart, Mittelstadt,
Forwards- possible
-3 of Sheary, Thompson, Rodrigues
*Olofsson, Asplund, Smith also would need protection

Defensemen- for sure
-Dahlin, Ristolainen
-1 of McCabe, Pilut, Guhle

***so it looks like we may either lose a defenseman we don’t want to,
or have to give up a pick for them to take someone else that we’d be ok losing

To me, the big consideration here is what happens with Berglungd's contract.
I know Pommer and Moylson come off this season, and Sobotka and Bogo the following ... but being able to unexpectantly dump $3.85 for 3-1/2 seasons in virtual dead money is big.

Violating Terms of the CBA

According to the NHL’s Collective Bargaining Agreement, the conditions for which a club can terminate a player’s contract are pretty simple: “The club may terminate the standard player contract if the player should fail, refuse, or neglect to obey the Club’s rules governing training and conduct of players, if such failure, refusal, or neglect should constitute a material breach of this standard player contract.

Right now, Berglund is considered in breach of his contract – he missed an event that he was supposed to attend. The Sabres have the right to void the remainder of his deal without any ramifications on the salary cap. It could become a case similar to that of Jake Dotchin and the Tampa Bay Lightning; another battle between the league and the players’ union.

I never had an issue with Berglund up until whatever happened here, but if they can get out from under his contract, it makes the trade an even bigger win. Addition by subtraction AND you get rid of a boat anchor contract.

Rumors are all over the place. Mental Breakdown. Never wanted to come here in the first place. Gave it a shot, still doesn't want to be here. Faked being sick to go party with some Swedish buddies. Hookers and Blow. Who knows what's really going on?

I’m not really a fan of him he’s very inconsistent and I would like a center that could actually score

It wouldn’t be a bad pick up but I wouldn’t spend a lot on him

Ottawa is the least of my worries. At least the Bruins and Habs game didn't go to OT. CBJ's im sure are finishing top 3 in the metro so they are irrelevant to our success also. Isles winning was the only thing that bothered me about last night considering they were in Colorado but even then we have a 9 point cushion.

This part is pretty interesting:

"It’s a little puzzling that Doug Armstrong, the GM of the Blues, didn’t check with Berglund or his agent to find out if the Sabres were on the list of acceptable teams he’d agree to be traded to. The harsh reality is the onus completely lies with Berglund’s agent to provide a list."

Wouldn't be surprising to me that GMs start to use this little loophole to get around the NTCs they give out. Not that I blame them, if the player is that set on making sure they don't end up in certain places, then they need to make sure they're proactive and have their lists in in time.

That would be lovely. I would have assumed we would be getting out of that contract somehow in the next couple of years anyways. But this way doesn't involve us losing a draft pick to get rid of his contract.

I think it’s pretty possible

there’s no way the Sabres will allow him in the locker room Imo
