For all you Rhino haters out there:
#Sabres are 15-3-3 this season when Reinhart records at least one point.
Samson Reinhart has scores 8G,21A in his last 27 games, including 10 multi-point games during that stretch. With 10 multi-point games through 34 games played this season, he has matched his career-high 10 in a season #Sabres

F Berrgy, He should not get a single Penny from the Sabres. The NHL should squash his contract and he should get suspended from playing signing in the NHL for the length of that contract.
If he was so unhappy, why not just request a trade and play while waiting for that trade to come, I'm not J-botts but I find it hard to believe that he would not love to get rid of 3.5 some odd million in salary for a guy who has all of 4 points. Instead you just quit? Frank that. |

The team gave him the NTC. The fact that he/his agent didn't submit their list to the league is on them, not on the team.
That's the interesting part there. If the player doesn't submit their list, that's not the teams fault.
I guess in good faith the team could call and say "Hey, is there a reason you didn't submit your list?" but at the same time, that indicates to the player that a trade is imminent and adds a whole new dimension of ugliness. Especially if at the end of the day the player DOESN'T get traded. It's fairly messy either way. - HonkFortheGoose
I think regardless of all of this, it was a bad look by the Blues organization.
They basically swindled both the player and the Sabres organization.
The trade happened on July 1. The start of the off-season. I mean, come on, this is pretty blatant cap circumvention by the Blues, TBH.
Instead of approaching the player to submit an updated list, they traded him the SECOND they had the chance.
This just goes to show that employers are shady no matter what your line of work is. It's simply in bad taste to have traded him the literal first day he had a modified NTC kick in on his ludicrous contract to begin with.
He showed up to the Sabres, was promised top-9 minutes and was given no chance to develop chemistry with his team mates, on a team that finished DEAD LAST in the standing last year.
I am ALWAYS for the employee in these situations. If I was hired to be an NFTA bus driver and they made me go drive a school bus for middle school kids, I would be furious, wouldn't you?
That said, he isn't acting any more entitled than any other athlete, ever. Yeah, he made a couple poor decisions, but come on, these are people, too, with a grueling travel schedule, and habits just like the rest of us.
Say he got hammered and was too hung over to make the flight the next day... How many of us have done this? And if we hated our jobs... Well, how many of us have no call/no showed a job? I know I have, albeit when I was younger...
Regardless, I'm with Derk Aiser on this one, I do not see a MATERIAL BREACH of a 5-year contract and this isn't a regular job, the fact that it's CONTRACTUAL WORK alone should be enough for anyone to realize this isn't a matter of firing a guy for a no call/no show. |

But, but that is what every else says. so it must be true right?
In all seriousness, I love Sam, but we are all fooling ourselves if we think for one second that he is not piling the points up because of his line mates and that is completely OK, I'm not about to chastise a guy because he is playing with elite players, if you are on that line your one job is to SCORE points... |

Why do you think Pegs will just roll and give him 3M a year settlement?
I'm genuinely curious.. contracts, legal binding, contract language, etc., I just don't see why Pegs would pay a guy 3M a year to not be on his team... - BareMetal
Seriously? The guy is already paying like 17 people to not work for him |

Berglund is a 30 year old man. I haven't gone NCNS from work in a decade. He had a requirement of his contract to participate, he has not. If he refuses to, he absolutely deserves to get tossed out on his ass.
And there was nothing in that trade that said, "Get traded here and we'll give you X amount of minutes", that simply doesn't happen. They may discuss his role, but to say he was promised top9 minutes is at best a guess, most likely a false statement IMO.
I disagree with the majority of this. |

Honestly, the truth probably lies somewhere in the middle, as with most things in life. I think most, if not all would agree the Sam will never carry a line. That being said, it's hard for even superstars to carry scrubs. He could probably score 50ish points being on a line with legit NHL second liners. Probably 65ish with ECHL and company. Put him with guys that are 4th liners? That's how you end up with a 35 point Sam. So the critics that claim it's all because of Eichel aren't being fair, and those that are saying Sam is great aren't being fair. The reality is he's a good/great complimentary player with whatever other players he's playing with. I believe that teams need those kind of guys. Just gotta make sure to not over pay for him. Just my two cents. |

I doubt skinner has anywhere near as many points without eichel? EITHER
Better bring a bit more to the table before resting.
is see why no one ever throws out a compliment around here.
I say - hey your guys playing good, way to stick bye him.
You- those fools
- skinner isnt good either?

Why did Girgs not produce with Jack? Why did Pommer fall off?

this is a short sighted comparison.. you mean if you were hired by the NFTA to drive a bus and after about 3 weeks had gotten in an accident and was running late every day you would still be mad that you got demoted?
Being promised something and not being able to hold up your end of the bargain is grounds for demotion. I get that there are bad employers, but there are also bad employees |
