Skinner is on pace for his best season ever.
Jack would seem to be the reason why, no?

Tampa is going to need a lot of cap help to sign point, 3 defensemen and 3 other forwards next year. They have about 9m in space after this year to do it. Then the year after they have to sign vasy. They’re (frank)ed if they don’t unload a couple contracts. I could see them taking a cap dump that expires after this season and something measly just to get it done. They are prime for poaching someone like him right now. Do it. |

Or that Reinhart was actually producing on the 3rd line, something Pommer still has been unable to do... - RhinoFan
When was this?
Sam was producing like a 36 year old , when being 23 years old and playing on non- eichel lines |

Of course he does, and will for anyone.
No one has said he’s a complete bust of a player.
People have said he’s a complete bust of a 2nd overall pick when not playing with Jack Eichel, which for the most part has been pretty true.
Honest question, Sabres don’t finish last in ‘15 and end up with Dylan Strome.
What kind of production does Sam have the last 4 years? - sbroads24
I can look it up if you don't believe me but I've seen everything from "biggest 2nd overall bust ever" to "he brings nothing to that line at all" (correct me I believe that you said this a couple weeks back).
Samson's production does get an uptick with Eichel, as does every other player, the fact is that he produces more in that position than anyone else, consistently.
What would his production have been with Strome? Who knows, who cares. What would AM's production be if he were drafted by the Oilers and not the Leafs?
The point is he's the best RW we have, he's vastly outplayed the others that have fit into that spot other than Pommer who can't maintain it.
He is a good player that gets marginalized constantly. I wonder if he breaks 75pts if he'll still be just a bust without Eichel. I doubt anything changes. The narrative is too attractive to some. |

They'll find a way to get rid of Callahan because Arizona will inevitably take him for a 2nd round pick. Because (frank) you Arizona.

Point's cap hit is less than 700K. el oh el.
9 Mil in space and Point is taking at least 7M. have (frank)ing fun with that one. |

i am also curious... does Pommer have a point while not on Jack's wing? last i checked that would be considered elevating someones game - SabresFaninIndiana
Pommer 9 goals 9 assists
The great EK9 10 goals and 10 assists.
And pommer hasn't recorded a point in weeks.
Ek9 was so great here in some eyes- on eichels line |

Nah, he’s slightly outplayed Pominville. Pominville was a PPG player on that line and had multiple huge goals. Like against Minnesota, Montreal etc.
The problem people have with Sam is every time he’s put on his OWN line, and expected to produce (Like a second overall pick should be able to) he’s fallen on his face.
He’s been great this year with Jack. I’m happy for him, and don’t want to break them up.
But anyone who complains about secondary scoring can point to the 23 year old top pick as one of the reasons for that |

Sabres' hot streaks:
Jack Eichel - 9 goals, 13 points in 6 games
Jeff Skinner - 10 goals, 14 points in 14 games
Sam Reinhart - 5 goals, 11 points in 10 games
Rasmus Dahlin - 4 assists, 5 points in 2 games
Rasmus Ristolainen - 6 assists in 6 games https://t.co/6sL8smjEh2
Sabres' cold streaks:
Vladimir Sobotka - 0 goals, 1 assist in 18 games
Kyle Okposo - 0 goals, 1 assist in 12 games
Conor Sheary - 0 goals in 14 games
Jason Pominville - 0 points in 10 games https://t.co/mtY4MODVb7
Clearly our top line is the only one doing anything. 18, 12, 14 and 10 games with no goals for those four with 'cold streaks' is ridiculous. That is $18m in cap space not producing. |

I respect yuur opinion, however maybe Sam is never going to be a leader, maybe he is more of a skilled supporting role guy. there are only a handful players that are true take over the game players. I just don't think Sam will ever be one of them. I think he is a skilled supporting role top six winger...
