This makes me feel good (From Bill Twitter)
:
While NHL and AHL roster management are two totally different animals, Gordon had a lot of trust in Oskar Lindblom (as an all-situations player) and also knows Sanheim's development path very well from their time together in LV. |

âFrom reports, Fletcher wasnât planning to fire Hakstol today, but Hak wanted a vote of confidence (based on reports) and Fletcher couldnât give that to him.
Which is why Gordon wasnât here for practice and the team didnât have a press release prepared this morningâ |

Isaac's source told him that someone in the organization talked to Quenneville. If Fletcher is saying that he didn't contact Chicago or Q, then it has to be Scott. According to Ant SanFilippo, Hextall and Scott didn't get along and Hextall felt that Scott was trying to stick his hand into the hockey operations side of things. Scott is obviously losing his mind because not only have the Flyers been mediocre this season, but attendance is down and their losing money. He wants drastic changes and an energized fan base--hence, Hextall gets canned, and ultimately his pursuit for Quenneville, which as we can see, has gone nowhere.
Everyone was worried about Holmgren taking over or still being President, but I'm more worried over Scott because all he cares about is money. - KGBflyers10
Or heâs worried about his job and his job isnât necessarily to win the Stanley cup. |

This whole situation is a tire fire of the highest order. Fire the coach who lost the room and replace him with a guy who will have even less influence being a lame duck.
This implosion is only going to get worse. These players are quitters.

This is where you hope during today's meeting with the players post Hak being shown the door that Fletcher flat out told them coaches are to be followed or your ass is out the door. Doesn't matter who you are. Then next one to slack is gone asap. |

I hear you on this but why wasn't that the rule under the past coach? In this situation, if you need to tell the players that, you put the wrong guy behind the bench.

The problem is they told everyone he's only here for a chance. This team is a bunch of players who sense that the coach has no authority and take advantage of it. You need to squash it. So we pray the line in the sand is drawn by the GM and he acts on it. |

Exactly. The situation the Flyers are in right now is really tough because so many major changes have taken place that the logical reaction is to regroup with the new people in place. Of course this is Philadelphia so everyone wants big news and changes right away, but using performance under the previous people in charge. It's not like it was only one or two players that were playing badly, basically the whole team regressed. New Gm, new head coach, new defensive coach, new AGM...will players become what they once were? Do you really want to trade them if they do?
Again this is a terrible situation, but the Flyers can only blame themselves. You don't wait for the bridge to collapse to fix it, these changes should of been done a while ago when it was first seen. - Glak18
This!
Fix the foundation, which they are doing, then pick the player moves prudently! In simpler terms.....donât sell low just to make changes. |

I agree completely on this. I just think they'd be better served with a coach who has weight behind him. |

WTF did Dave Scott expect when he decides to change direction mid-stream and then they announce it to the entire league theyâre looking to move their prospects for immediate help?
They knew what Hextall was doing for the past four years. If you didnât like how he was operating it should have been identified in the first year and corrected. Senior management let this get to this point and itâs not going to get better any time soon.
Clearing the deck happens later in the year, this year is basically done, itâs over. |
