Not to pile it on the poor guy but North Dakota won the National Championship in 2016. With Hak's assistant who took over for him when he left for the Flyers. Jesus. Poor freaking guy...

I saw the Dmen more active than prior games/years. I guess i was wrong.
- ClaudeFather

No your not wrong.

The ability to defend hakstol up to his firing takes a strong will that can’t be broken down in just a few days. It’s going to take years.

He's made millions coaching. He's probably going to easily get another job coaching hockey. He's going to be all right.

Hakstol definitely wanted the team to play more disciplined and stop taking penalties. With the Flyers PK what coach wouldn't? There weren't any restraints put on defenseman from joining the rush nor from any player from being creative.

Chris vandevelde got another job playing hockey after the flyers... he’s in the Finnish league right?

I believe the narrative that Hastol has chains on any player especially defenseman to join the rush is complete and utter nonsense. I fully anticipated these pre conceived notions being posted. Now prove me wrong!
- MJL

You just told me in another quote that Hak did put constraints on the players regarding taking penalties. You have been proven wrong.

LOL, what I said is that I'm quite sure that Hakstol wanted the team to play more disciplined and take less penalties. So therefore I've been proven wrong that Hakstol put constraints on the defenseman to play aggressively offensively? Can't make this up.

They were more active tonight than other nights this year. All three of our offensive D-men had good games and were up ice all night. Is that not what you saw? Ghost thrived on the PP last year, yes Provy had a good year but what does that have to do with the Dmen more active last night?

Okay, we're done here.

Wonder if they made a small move to pick up a checking center?

Interesting move, especially if Lehtera is unavailable Late December to appear in court. I just don't see him playing until that situation is resolved. Unless the Flyers are very confident with Jori.

Not a big deal but i am a little surprised. Thought his line looked good last night and he was showing solid jump and getting chances.

Wouldn't really call Coyle a "checking center" though.

Me too. Like everyone else I would speculate another move in the works, but on the other hand the Flyers really don't need to free up cap space to make a trade. I look at the Flyers short a forward now with Lehtera questionable and Weal being Weal.

If they got Coyle I would assume Couturier would go back to center with Giroux.

Maybe, Coyle has been used on the wing as well.

It's the Austrian League, but I agree that he's just about Finnish'd.

Peters was also Lindholm's coach in Carolina.

They swapped Hamilton for LIndholm and Hanifin, and their major free agent signing was James Neal, who was 7 points in 34 games. The bulk of the roster hasn't changed. Keep trying to dismiss the impact Peters has had there, but Calgary fans will tell you you don't know what you're talking about.

David Rittich also has a lot to do with it.
