Thoughts?

Patrick Bergland is on the outs with the Sabres and it looks like they are going to terminate the contract.

He is a decent defensive center who plays a fairly heavy game. Since he will be paid out for the 3 remaining years of his contract...he may be available on the cheap for the remainder of the season if he wants to play.

Is he shot or would he be worth a rest of the year contract for 4C?

What say yee?

Agree and looking to stay out of the "they are allowed to activate vs. not activate" banter going on. What I think I SEE is less indecision on the defensemen's carrying the puck.

What i mean (and saw) was it didn't look like they were thinking what if, they buried their head and got their arse up ice quickly.....it had seemed lately that there was a slight pause, hesitancy or whatnot and often that lead to issues. What is the root cause of them doing that is not my call to make.

There is no question that players, especially Gostisbehere, have been suffering from indecision and a lack of confidence. That swagger that Gostisbehere has had in the past has been missing. A coaching change can often give players a reset mentally.

I this situation, I don't think he's going to be paid the 3 remaining years.

Maybe, Coyle has been used on the wing as well.
- Glak18

I thought that he is primarily a winger... They say his "defense not good enough to play center at the NHL level". -TSN

Not 100% sure....per TSN.

The Buffalo Sabres have placed suspended forward Patrik Berglund on unconditional waivers for the purpose of terminating his contract.

Berglund, who played the first 10 seasons of his career with St. Louis, has three years remaining on his contract at an annual salary-cap hit of $3.85 million.

It's definitely ending poorly in Buffalo but is that a death blow?

Carter Hart aside, Sanheim's usage was encouraging.

It was a win! That's a good thing, right?

*reads other posts*

Right, you guys??

*goes back to making Jori Lehtera cocaine jokes*

- johndewar

I would not surprised to see these guys make a real playoff push. It’s been their MO the last few years. They maybe too far out but who knows.

Very encouraged about Sanheim and Patrick last night. Want to see more of Varone, and also think Lindblom needs to play. Getting a game for Hart was a bonus.
