I would not surprised to see these guys make a real playoff push. It’s been their MO the last few years. They maybe too far out but who knows.

Very encouraged about Sanheim and Patrick last night. Want to see more of Varone, and also think Lindblom needs to play. Getting a game for Hart was a bonus.

I’m rolling with Carter Hart

He’ll start or come in when Neuvy blows up

I’d be happy to never see Neuvy in the Flyers net again

I'm just curious what the deal is here. Unless he absolutely plays his a$$ off I don't see them keeping Hart up too long. Stolie is out weeks, Elliot is a question mark. We all want Hart over Neuvy.

Sanheim is a beast.

Patrick and Jake were effective.

G-Tk is lovely

Ghost on the board, and looking more relaxed.

Hart did everything he needed to do and more.

Just an exhale of a game last night. The team we've watched for the last 3 weeks isn't the team I expect to see moving forward.

i'll never understand why hak could modify his system or the players just couldn't try harder...

I think we saw the plan until Elliott is healthy or a back to back occurs.

We will see how things go. Hak being fired is a sign that they are next if things don't get fixed. Of course if they decide that Gordon isn't the real Head Coach then the players will get longer time where they need to perform or they could be out the door.

Would be foolish IMHO. Team has good momentum rolling, feeling good about winning, feeling good about Hart getting his first win. I wouldn't sit Hart unless it's a back-to-back game situation.

Yep Nashville and Columbus, let Glass Joe face the Rags at MSG. That gets them to Christmas.

Then depending on how Thursday goes I'd look at Carter against Tampa and Florida. let Glass Joe play Carolina and come back New Years Day with Carter against Nashville. If Nashville romps the kid maybe I swap the last two.

When was the last time a 20 year old has started in goal. Crazy for how long we've talked about this kid that he's only 20. Feel like he was with the tips for half a decade haha.

Do you think Gostisbehere and Provorov thrived last season?
- MJL

Yes they did and this year they have not. I found Provorov thanking Hakstol but saying this was probably for the best interesting. I absolutely loved Sanheim getting 21 mins of ice time. Patrick actually looked like a hockey player last night.

Not directed to you in general, just happen to be responding to you post but I honesty don't care if Hakstol is or is not a good coach. He's gone. I do think its naive for people to think a good coach can't make a bit of a difference. of course a good coach can't make a crap team good tho. Sometime a change of voice is just needed. The greatest coaches get fired. Look at Edmonton right now, Hitch has them playing well. Change of voice.

He’s honestly not the most physical player except for when he fights. He doesn’t strike fear to their players to keep their heads up when he’s on the ice imo. Also he’s been losing so many board battles lately it’s driving me crazy. Add that to the fact he blows defensively.. yes move simmer

I never pretend to know what players think about other players on the ice.

Neuvy shouldn't get another game here. As soon as Stolie and Elliott are back he can (frank) off for good.

There is one thing I thought of recently that made sense about coaches and players.

Picture yourself at a new job. You basically jump through hoops to look good. There are certain things about your job you think of doing but hold back because your new. An example would be any profession involving a computer. Most people would dare browsing the web at work when they just start. However as you spend more and more time there, you learn what you can get away with and then you would start browsing the web at that job.

I think Hockey is sort of the same. You have a coach who has been there for 3+ years and is pretty familiar with most the roster. I dont think its beyond the realm of possibility that guys got away with a lot especially the vets. We all noticed that their leashes were longer. Perhaps it was one of those things were the players and coach were too comfortable. We all know that our bosses\supervisors will look the other way from time to time when they like us. If you are not well liked then you end up in the doghouse for almost anything.

That's one of the mysteries of a new coach. How will he handle the goalies?

I agree that a change was needed and based on the situation, I would expect Provorov to say that. That was brought up to refute the ridiculous narrative that Hakstol put the chains on defenseman to play aggressively offensively. Sanheim has had 20+ minute games in the past. Patrick played well previously also.

A good coach in Quenneville couldn't make a difference this year in Chicago. It's not automatic. Sometimes coaching changes help and sometimes they don't.

The best employees remain focused and dedicated to the job and don't have to be watched all the time to not be doing things they're supposed to be doing. You also have leadership dynamics on a hockey team. The best teams play the right way. If a player is out of line, leadership handles it. If the coach has to "babysit" all the time, then you don't have the right players.

If we had lost last night, think of the disappointment today would’ve brought.

Yeah I think less trades will happen than most Flyer fans think will come. There will be a couple, but no blockbusters.
