Looking like past seasons for trades...nothing. - Glak18

Yeah I think less trades will happen than most Flyer fans think will come. There will be a couple, but no blockbusters. - Glak18
IDK, if losses pile up that “bias for action” better be a real thing, not the hogwash it appears to be.

I just think things got stretched out longer because of the changes. By mid to late-January everyone will know where Simmonds stands. He has more value to another team than just the Flyers at this point.
Goalie injuries are playing a huge role right now and I wouldn't be surprised if everyone is trying to pry the 1st rounder from Philly to get an Ottawa. |

I wouldn't be surprised if Feltcher was offered a number of deals where the cost is just too high make. Likely the same that his predecessor found.

I just want the roster to truly be improved by the start of 2019-20 including the goalies, 2 NHL 2 AHL...not Elliott or Neuvy. Plus nice fitting d-pairings. And 4 NHL caliber centers. Sure I ask for the moon.
Edit: plus, unless we want G to keep carrying the PK on his back, we need to do something about that too.

I would have no issue with Hart and Elliot splitting starts next season. |

Rats! Okay...it takes two to play chess and maybe they're sitting in the park at the board alone so they're just feeding the pigeons instead |

Yes they did and this year they have not. I found Provorov thanking Hakstol but saying this was probably for the best interesting. I absolutely loved Sanheim getting 21 mins of ice time. Patrick actually looked like a hockey player last night.
Not directed to you in general, just happen to be responding to you post but I honesty don't care if Hakstol is or is not a good coach. He's gone. I do think its naive for people to think a good coach can't make a bit of a difference. of course a good coach can't make a crap team good tho. Sometime a change of voice is just needed. The greatest coaches get fired. Look at Edmonton right now, Hitch has them playing well. Change of voice. - nastyflyergirl
I would not mind bringing Hitch back after he wears out his welcome in Edmonton.
If it coincides with our peak that is and we are in the market at the time.

Elliott seems tired in addition to the post surgery injury issues. I just hope he can help this season.

Peters was also Lindholm's coach in Carolina.
They swapped Hamilton for LIndholm and Hanifin, and their major free agent signing was James Neal, who was 7 points in 34 games. The bulk of the roster hasn't changed. Keep trying to dismiss the impact Peters has had there, but Calgary fans will tell you you don't know what you're talking about. - Feanor
I don't have to dismiss the impact Peters has had in Calgary because I can literally point to all the years in Carolina where the man LITERALLY NEVER MADE THE PLAYOFFS.
You can't answer the question without revealing your bias: Was Peters a good coach in Carolina? If you want to say the answer is "yes," then why didn't they make the playoffs? Could it be that he didn't have the players?
If you want to say the answer is "no," then why are the Flames leading their division now? Could it be that he has better players?
The answer, of course, is "some combination of both."
Your crusade to demonize Dave Hakstol ignores the fact he was making the playoffs while other coaches weren't -- and if he was a complete idiot, or "not good," why weren't we Carolina the last four years and not making it at all?
Either Hakstol isn't an idiot, or your good players have to be your best players |

By the way: Feanor's fraudulent argument about Calgary "having bascially the same roster as last year except for Lindholm, Hanifan and James Neal" conveniently left out other free agent signings Derek Ryan, Austin Czarnik and Alan Quine -- on any given night, they are literally playing with FIVE new forwards of the 12 who dress from last year
You do that poop when you're biased |

The best employees remain focused and dedicated to the job and don't have to be watched all the time to not be doing things they're supposed to be doing. You also have leadership dynamics on a hockey team. The best teams play the right way. If a player is out of line, leadership handles it. If the coach has to "babysit" all the time, then you don't have the right players. - MJL
oh so we have a giroux leadership problem
maybe he should learn from pavelski |

Goaltending market is brutal. Just nothing out there where you either aren't taking on someone else's problem or assuming a ton of term and/or risk |

Agreed. I think they're going to have to ride Neuvy/Hart until Elliott or Stolie come back.
I'd be interested to see what D men could be available now. |

Hitch is not just "another voice" as was stated in the post you responded to...........
He is coach who trades in demanding the details... and position on the ice of each player in every situation and how they are to react to plays and support each other..
No guesswork.
