In my opinion, in the right situation, Simmonds is still a 30-30 guy. - MJL

Now that you put it that way...ugh I don't want that line with Simmonds on it.
Move either Simmonds or Horner to the 2nd unit OR since it seems like Crosby, Malkin and Kessel play the full 2 mins just have line changes with the two.
2019 1st Round works for me - Glak18
I’m surprised they even have that left. I want that to go for muzzin.

I think that would be s tremendous fit for both him and the team. Make no mistake I think his next deal is going to be an anchor for the team that inks it. But for this upcoming postseason, you put him on the leafs and he crushes it there. I’m also not exactly team intangible, but it is a real thing and he would bring it to them in spades. I don’t know what you guys would want or realistically could get for a pure rental, but I don’t think you could pair a better trade marriage in the league than that one. - stayinthefnnet
I would love a 1st round pick or a Calen Addison for him.... |

This year he is. Next year, I’m still a buyer. The year after I wouldn’t bet against him either. After that, the deal will be too rich for me given the risk. And yes, it’s very fair to say the same about hornqvists deal. |

I never understand when I watch Pens-Cap games...it seems like it is always low scoring and tons of missed chances, but Flyers-Pens...everything goes in. The hate flows in both. |

Wilson single handedly tilts it to a large extent. The flyers by and large are good guys. There’s definitely the giroux/Crosby dynamic, but the caps have had a lot of post season history with them going both ways since that 2012 bloodbath. I do agree that it always seems to be a lot of missed chances with pens caps games and a lot of .760 save percentage games with flyers pens |

I can't wait to see what the Penguins look like in 5-6 years. Do they sign big name UFAs or do they tank it again? |

Actually the more I look at it, Pens probably have 3 years before complete rock bottom. As long as they don't get a top pick this year then I am cool with that. |

It’s coming fast. It just goes. Which is why it cracks me up when people want to run giroux out on a rail. It will probably be a little while before you have a guy consistently in the top crust of scoring like that again yourselves. |

I think Flyer fans agree he is basically cemented as a life long Flyer. What I find makes it that much more amazing, Giroux was a late first round pick and I think because of that he doesn't get the recognition he deserves. The two down years for him were frustrating, but you could tell something was wrong and not that he was bad, although he did play bad at times because of it.
I am just curious to see if the Penguins can build a competitive team again without getting an unanimous top franchise pick. Other than Nashville, not many other teams win without having one currently or did and traded them. |

At a certain point the numbers are just too much to ignore. In the past decade be is right there behind Crosby in points ahead of pretty much everyone else. Maybe never had that one year where he was the unquestioned best player, but that sustained level of dominance is rare.
As far as your last point, I don’t know if they can or will. But like you touch on, I don’t think if anyone really does these days, especially in hockey.

Giroux is the most underrated athlete in Philadelphia in the past 20 years. |

Also, in that fight between Wilson and Oleksiak, if I'm honest, I was rooting for the meteor to land between them and take them both out. |

Unfortunately, that risk is always there for older players. If GM's think they can win a Cup though, they'll make the move. They figure when that happens, they might not be around.

What if we traded Simmonds for Jori Lehtera, Morgan Frost and Joel Farabee and kept Brayden Schenn at an affordable cost? |

So now I’m angry, no trades, no nothing, I have always supported homer but he sure did take the long way in changing the coach.
Hextall did not need to be fired, we’re getting the same song and dance from fletcher, with no players moves I now believe that homer asked Hextall to fire Hakstol and he wouldn’t
There is absolutely no difference in Hextall and fletch |

Do you want him to make a bad trade, just to make a bad trade? I'm happy he isn't throwing Frost's name out there before he gets to evaluate his worth from inside the team perspective. While GM's know about other teams talents, they usually dont know as much as the owning team. |

I get it, but this is the oxymoron of this whole situation, it was reported that homer wasn’t happy because he wouldn’t make a trade, so that leaves an impression that homer had some ideas on trading, but still nothing happens
Was it firing the coach and bringing hart up the problem?
It sure seems that way, new coach and hart makes a start and flyers universe is all hunker dorey, this is bullpoop the same reason Hextall was fired is the same reason fletcher isn’t trading either, bunch of idiots

The NHL trade market is he determining factor. Fletcher has barely moved into the GM's office so we have to give him a chance. What I think is happening is that Fletcher is finding the same prices that Hextall was finding prohibiting a deal.
