105 106 area was where the jackass was …….iv been a season ticket holder for a long time and this was the worst thing ive seen from a person in all my time going...didn't even have the sense to just ask the people just went to security and said some terrible things thankfully the arena staff didn't really want to hear his bulls$#t - tyler46

Well sure, in one scenario. But that's the problem with having too many variables. It's only one option. One or both could be significantly more valuable than the 1st rounders this year. Or vice versa. Or a mix. Overall it's a moot argument today. - TheSabresTaco
Think of it this way. Eichel, Dahlin, Skinner, Risto hold the table together. Mitts can eventually replace Skinner in this scenario. But anyone else wearing a Sabre sweater can/will be replaced at one point or another of the course of the next 10 years. If Reinhart signs a team-friendly deal he probably won't go anywhere but if there is a time that we have to make the move to be cap complant he is the 6th most important player to the teams success and is the most likely to move. |

Section 105 last night, smoking hot young-30 babe sitting in 4th row, all dressed up with this very stylish but totally out of place hat on; not watching the game at all but really doing everything she can to get as much attention as she could.
Five or six minutes into the game some other people showed up, waved at her, and she retreated from the 4th row to the 5th. 10 minutes into the game another group of people showed up and waved at her, and she hung her head altogether and walked back up the stairs and left.
It had a prospecting quality. - Der Kaiser

Do you want a guy like Duchene in this lockerroom. He will always be 2nd fiddle to Jack. Not sure I'd play that particular game of Russian roulette. - RhinoFan
If Matt Duchene is signing a long term contract to join this team, he knows exactly what he's signing up for. |

what do you all think it would take to get Sean Couturier out of Philly? I think he would fit extremely well with the Sabres.
I would do
to Philly
1st
olaffson
Guhle
Burglund (sabres retain some salary)
Buffalo gets
Sean Couturier
Thoughts - hehateme
Why would Philly trade Couturier?
He’s a young guy they’d wanna build around (one would think)
Simmonds will probably get moved first if they’re trading someone
Or maybe even Voracek
*i think they’d keep Giroux |

If they could get out of Okposo’s deal I would bring in Duchene.
I wonder if Ottawa knowing Duchene is gonna walk would take back a bad contract in Okposo and one of our 1st for an extended Duchene? - Stripes77
I really like where your going, but they would have a better chance if Kyle's salary was significantly below the cap hit, but that doesn't happen until the 21-22 season.
Can't imagine any team wanting to pay him that kinda cash for his dwindling production for 4 more years after this...especially that franchise. |

If its for next to nothing I'd welcome him with open arms. A 2nd rounder and a meh prospect can probably get it done. |

There are some good UFAs available next summer around the 26/27 age. I like JT Miller, but what are you giving up to get him?
Some of the UFAs available:
Mark Stone
Brett Connolly
Kevin Hayes
Michael Ferland
Ryan Dzingal
Artemi Panarin
Brock Nelson
Matt Duschene
Alex Chiasson
Marcus Johansson
Anders Lee
Of course some will be resigned, but some teams simply won't be able to afford them. Some might want out of a bad situation like Ottawa. All are (I believe) hitting UFA status for the first time and coming to a young, upcoming team like Buffalo may seem like a good opportunity as opposed to what the Sabres have been thought of in the past. |

Step 2: Call the FBI

Step 4: Profit - TheSabresTaco
Pretty sure that Richards is still on the cap for them though. |

I think we both know Matt Duchene is not those players. He's much closer to Tavares than (frank)ing Leino.
However, I see your point about long term contracts for guys in their high 20's. 6x9M. Or, tough it out with Casey until he's ready to take over a line in a year or two. |

I don't want to pay him 10 mil per until he is 35
I'd rather fill 2 holes at 5 mil per on short term deals
keep the first rounders, develop prospects

I'm talking UFA, not trade. I don't disagree with the assessment here though, but I feel JT Miller specifically is somewhat overpaid. |

Haha just take a look at the Penguins over the years. Crosby, Malkin, Gonchar,Letang, Fleury (until Murray came along). They held the table together while several moving parts came in and out. Eichel, Dahlin, Risto, Skinner as of right now would be the guys we build the team around. Everyone else can be a revolving door at one point or another with changes in circumstances. I like Reinhart but he might have to be a guy that bites the bullet down the line too. Botts im sure know's this and thats why he didn't bite on a long-term deal right away. |
