Well, Bergeron
Doesn’t mean his isn’t a good 2way player - jdfitz77
He’s never finished higher than 6th in voting.
He’s never been a finalist.
His two way play is overrated.

I haven’t back read, has anyone taken a break from the RoR arguing to mention that nylander didn’t practice yesterday and isn’t in the lineup today? |

6th is still pretty good
I’ll take top10-ish
And he has the offensive ability to score a ppg?
That’s a really good player |

I’ll be willing to bet he doesn’t finish above 70 points. |

Even if he did, he’s nearing the end of his prime and he’s never been a PPG player.
What Fitz won’t admit (since he loves to say I don’t admit things) is that it was never about this year. Never. And O’Reilly wanted to be traded for (frank)s sake

I take your point, some players are definitely more exciting than others with the same amount of points. Guys +/- 3 points of Reinhart (I'm guessing 'prod' on ESPN means p/60, NHL.com has taken a poop and refuses to display any results, and the stat sites are slow and slow to update) that produce less are Lindholm(more points), Marchand(equal), Barkov(less), Larkin, Horvat, ROR, Toews, Hoffman, RNH, Seguin, Nyqvist. At what point does it not matter? What's more entertaining? A flashy goal and a win? Or a solid assist and a win? I don't really care if all the goals the Sabres score are own goals on the other team, as long as they win. And the opposite is also true; a bunch of flashy plays in a loss is still a loss, and for a team with expectations that's not good enough. Winning is all that matters and, generally, players with points help you win. - Wetbandit1
The New Jersey devils used the trap to win
The Edmonton Oilers used offense to win
See the difference. Yes they both won, but that's hardly all that matters |

Thanks Boss!
I've made the similar argument about a guy like Mitch Marner. Not trying to discredit his play but historically, he's been less the driver and more the passenger on the leafs. His step forward is in part development related, but a lot of it has to do with a guy named John Tavares. Problem is there's no arguing against a good ol ontario boy who's fun to watch. Soon as he makes a nice move to the middle, the fans will eat you alive. - Sabresfan-365
I mean Kadri scored 30 twice playing withand he had 69 points last season without playing 5v5 with Matthews. Marner has been one of the most electrifying players in the league this year.... If he’s pedestrian our entire team sans Eichel should just pack it in and retire. Half of Tavares’ goals have been tap ins becuase Marner dekes through half the team and sets him up on the doorstep. |

I see the point he’s making about Reinhart not being the flashiest of players, I 100% agree, but Marner is a ton of fun to watch. Not the write comparison at all. |

I never said he was good defensively. Corsi measure shot attempts for and shots against. What does that have anything to do with the argument that he isn’t a flashy and exciting offensive player ? I thought your argument was comparing the stylistic play of Reinhart and Marner ? Unless I’m completing missing the poin I haven’t back read the last 4 hours worth of posts. |

Think you missed, i wouldn't back read either. Basically, Marner for most of his career has been less the driver and more the passenger. Thats what the heat map shows (and that hes surprisingly decent defensively).
I used him as an example of electrifying players being seen as more impactful than they actually are (marner, mittelstadt) and boring guys not really getting their due cause..well, they're boring lol.
Marner's good, just not as good as the eyes would let you believe. |

Yea I definitely mixed up two separate posts and merged into one on the last page my bad. He’s a pretty damn good passenger though. His ppg since he came in the league could very well be higher then Eichel’s if I’m not mistaken. |

Did u see Dreger during the Caps vs Pens intermission?
He said we aren’t talking with Skinner yet
U &/or Homie need to give him a shout & let him know what’s up!
I did like that the last thing he said was that Skinner has a NTC, and he KNOWS that Skinner wants to stay in Buffalo |
