Haven't heard a word from either yet. So they've had ample time to respond. It's been 6 days. - mattsox
What is the deadline for Berglund or his Agent to respond? Maybe they will miss it again and we just cut our loses. |

Both parties are playing it close to the vest. Its times like these you wish Tim Murray was back. We would know everything
In all seriousness it does seem Berglund is done here. It is similar to the Klesla situation. |

Honestly at this point I think they should put the kid on a wing and let him gain some confidence it might be fun to watch Mitts with Jack and Jeff...
or put Sam and Mitts together on a line (sam at center) I think mitts is so worried about playing defense that he's not really showing what he can do in the offensive zone... But who know I could be totally wrong, pure speculation on my part. - gordong
Skinner - Eichel - Mitts
Sheary - Reinhart - Okposo
Something like this? I'm just not sure if we would get much more production, but it could be worth a try??? |

I don't know how mine would be when i wasn't even a part of their "conversation" - CoHo_to_B-Lo exactly what I thought... But whatever too many other things to talk about.... |

Unpopular opinion:
You talk about trauma being the root cause of a lot of addictions, but it's pretty well understood that most people suffer some traumatic experience before they are adults. Some people pick up the bottle of pills, others don't. I can feel empathy for those who suffer from addiction, as I have with cigarettes and understand what a goober addiction really is. However, if we all experience trauma (to some degree) and some people choose to not resort to drugs...there is a strength there that the addicts lacked, at least at the time of their initial usage.
I am not going to call addicts weak. All I am saying is that there is some onus on the addict to both seek help, but also that they do hold some of the blame for their decision to use.
Hopefully that sounds a bit more fair. I think I understand where both are coming from to be honest. There is an argument to be made that millionaires, of all people, should have the ability and resources to get clean. Josh Gordon had multiple opportunities and yet he let it ruin his career. I don't pity him. I pity the guy on the corner that broke his arm, ran out of oxycodone and starting using H in it's place. That seems like more of a trap than drinking or weed will ever be. - RhinoFan
Its not written rules....some people self medicate and some people don't. My point was the one poster said if you are making lots of money you should just turn your addiction off and that is nonsense. |

Our right side is terrible, other than Reinhart.
I'm glad they're finally trying E-rod on the right side. But moving Reinhart to center makes our right side look like dog doo doo |

having a debate about addiction = kicking someone.
I would say people who approach a message board in that manner are weak minded much more than addiction.
Isn't perspective wonderful. - sabresfan69
OR we just don't give a (frank).... Basically that what he said... Im right there with him, who cares... He's not affaliated with buffalo in any way, he's been though this time and time again EVERYONE knew it was just a matter of time before it happened again. And Im sure some hoped he would finally figure it out. |

I think that may happen within 24 hours.
Sheary down
Pommer down
Nylander up? - Boss34
It's a tough situation to predict. The Holiday freeze is already in effect. There's 10 D practicing in Buffalo, who can't be sent down. A few close/ready to return. You have to do some IR juggling to dress Nylander if you bring him up.

And I getcha, that's a step too far. However, I do think that having such a plethora of resources as Josh Gordon has means something. There is no doubt he would have a much better chance at getting professional and meaningful help than someone who was at the opposite end of the pay scale. That's all.
Otherwise, I get it. There is no on/off switch. |

Yeah, looking pretty bleak.
Never been a fan of Reinhart at the center position though. I think that is why they've given Mitts so much time without moving his position around. They really need him to be a center and Reinhart to take one skilled RW spot. You can flip the two, but that's really our only other move. |

Agree about Mitts and playing D...but maybe having Girgs on his wing will help in that regard. I never expected CM to become our 2C this year so getting him accustomed to the 2 way game at this stage is a good thing imo.

I agree so much with this. Wanted to type it out, but felt a little too lazy. True story has never been told more. Have two alcoholic uncles, a third that died from overdose. They haven't drank in a very long time, and they both have told me they had a weakness. They, themselves, called it a weakness. It took strength to overcome. Just because someone calls a problem a weakness doesn't mean that they are calling that person weak. Every person has strengths, weaknesses, insecurities, confidences and every other ying to yang attribute. Some have more of others, some have less. I feel empathy for those struggling with their own weakness, vice, addiction, disease, or whatever term you need to call it to help yourself, but I truly truly truly believe that in order to correct the problem, it first has to come from the individual's desire to fix it. /End rant that I said I was too lazy to write. |

It worth trying even if it's only for a couple games, Mitts might get some more space... we all know he has a good shot, he got the talent. Ultimately the problem is we just don't have enough talent on lines 2 and 3, you can only hide poop for so long. but it would be nice if we could find some combo that could score once every couple games instead of once every 10-15 games. |

I think the problem mitts is having is similar to the problem Jack used to have before some talent was put on his wings.
Other teams see only one skilled player on the ice and swarm, neither of mitts wings can do anything and then its a turn over and hes playing defense.
The times where mitts has had time and space hes shown some impressive skill.
I think he also need to put on a solid 10-15 pounds before next year |

Very nice. It's a life experience thing too. We all share a different view of it.
Simple point. Don't do drugs.
