Nobody would ever put Malkin in the top 5 either during the duration of his career yet in my mind Pittsburgh had the two best players in the league on one team. People have opinions, Matthews statistically wise has had a better start to his career. I still personally like what Eichel brings to the ice better night in and night out. As long as you have one of Eichel, McDavid, Matthews then you're in a good situation. Teams win though not individual players.

You can tell he's lost a step from last year. Guy had 5 points in 6 games and was making everything happen. He looks like he lost a step this year and its showed. Not to mention his linemates haven't been spectacular either. Mittelstadt, like Reinhart, are complimentary players that will have their point totals enhanced by playing with better players cause those are the guys that can bury the puck after they set them up perfectly in the slot.

Skinner's historical PPG was almost identical to E. Kane. Skinner would have signed for 7x7 just like Kane if he was a UFA this past offseason. I can stomach him making $8.5M but id prefer him be closer to $8M. If Eichel can appreciate a guys value $1.5M due to three months of hockey then why do we have to spend so much on wingers ? Reinhart at $3.6M is almost a PPG player due to Eichel.
