So I rewatched the Oleksiak Wilson bout and Oleksiak actually threw the first punch. Its really, really tough to make the argument that JO got jumped when he was ready enough to throw the first punch. You can make the argument that he wasn't quite ready and instincts took over, but saying he as absolutely blindsided is inaccurate.

Totally agree. If we're gonna get up in arms about Wilson being dirty, we need to be honest about when he's not being dirty and just admit our dude lost or else we lose credibility.

Seriously. The dude's idea of a down season last year was still as a top 20 defenseman. What more do you want from a guy that routinely murders his body on a game to game basis?

To put it into perspective that’s like running two forward lines the whole game then blaming them for making mental mistakes or being lazy. 30 minutes (close to) every game... that’s a poope load of time. Forwards looked gassed after an extended shift.

Yeah how bout next time the GM doesn't motivate an opposing team's player to bash the head in of one of ours. If JO takes it upon himself to be Wilson's rival, which I'm sure he kind of did, that's one thing, but a GM shouldn't spout his mouth off about guys not wanting to fight his goon. Only gonna motivate the other goon more.

I don’t know dude. Oleksiak’s gloves were dropped by the time they were tangled up. I think he just kind of lost. I feel like if Oleksiak got jumped for real there would have been a bigger lag time between the tie up and the gloves coming off.

Its just the fact that it’s Wilson. Wouldn’t straight up fight him last year, just got made a female dog by Reaves very publicly. He seriously pumped himself up on the bench to go beat someone up. If Oleksiak did something stupid I would say that’s just hockey, but Oleksiak plays like a big teddy bear mostly. I wonder if Wilson’s going to skate right at Reaves guns blazing next time they meet?

I never said he jumped him..I said it was instigating...which is entirely different then jumping someone...I wanted Wilson thrown out for instigating a fight that had no reason to occur other than to apparently answer to his pussiness last playoffs.

Yea he should show more class like Arron Asham did.

Aside from JO getting embarrassed, there's not a lot to hate about last night's game. The Pens may not have won the possession game, but they won quality of play battle.

The two players I really honed in on this game were Sheahan and Pettersson. I'm openly not the biggest fan of Sheahan, but over the last three games or so he's looked like a different player; he's been so strong and confident on the puck and greasy as (frank).

I'm liking Pettersson more and more, and just wish we could see him paired with someone else. He got beat a couple of times last night, but he plays such a sound game.

EDIT: Honorable mention to Wilson. He's earned a spot IMO. Just hoping he doesn't pull a Kuhnhackl.
