Ok, you don't want to just move on? Got it.
1st statement - No. Right now, not having Schultz is making a difference with whom gets deployed with Geno.
2nd statement - All players go through slumps and clearly you want to not only generalize, but overlook the detailed explanation about having to make-up for other's shortcomings, I'm not going any further. Go back and read if you want your answer.
3rd statement - Geno is one of the best of all time and will eventually find ways to carry his line or team, but to always expect that of him is asinine.
4th statement - Yes, all players go through slumps, but in cases like this it exposes other issues on the team. There's also a difference between a slump and poor play because you can't focus on your own role. To Geno's detriment he's a bit too emotional and sulks, so it makes things look worse at times. - Rinosaur
At the age Geno/Sid are at now, to expect them to carry lines/pairings year after year is absurd. Even if he did it last year, given the aging curve I wouldn’t expect it this year or next year just because of players declining.
Not saying he is going to decline, just that I wouldn’t expect him to carry lines. I’d rather load him and the team wit the best possible players. Something GMJR didn’t do. |

Agreed and JJ being his most common dman is just too much. Pens need to grab an upgrade at RD right now.

Anyone have any fancy stats on who Geno was playing with mostly when he was on fire at the beginning of the season? |

Whichever line matches up against the other teams top line should get Tanger. I'm pretty sure that is Sid's line most nights.
Every year there is 1 or less Kris Letang and Geno still produces.
I know JJ is bad but to completely nullify Geno is a bit of a stretch. All players go through slumps. - Thorny87
I agree with some of this blog, but blaming JJ for problems with Geno and Kessel is definitely a stretch. I've watched every game and Geno's issues have mostly to do with puck management. He's flat out careless right now.....and every coach would have a problem with it. |

The issue here, is that this conversation is being driven by people with agendas and poor reading comprehension skills.
RW, nor anyone else, is blaming Geno’s slump on JJ, just simply pointing out contributing factors to production issues with Geno. |

IMO the agenda is driven by the blogger. I'm a big fan of RW's work, but when he doesn't like a player, that player gets beat worse than Mike Lang's rented mule. A lot of RW's points are valid, but if I'm writing this blog, any mention of JJ would have been much closer to the end of the piece than the top. |

He really only touches on JJ in regards to Geno’s struggle. Doesn’t blame him completely for it. |

Blow it up....
Trade Malkin, Kessel and Letang for young players then trade 2019 first round pick for Voracek.
Win/Win/Win for all. |

I'm not saying that...
What I am saying is writers usually emphasize their most important points in the first paragraph or two. Then they proceed to lay out their case with less important points further down. I agree with much of the piece regarding Sullivan. I think the "Torts" in him is coming to the surface far too much and I think he flat out butchered the playoffs last season.
All I'm saying is Geno's struggles are way more Geno than JJ. Way more.

Im not going to answer you question, it was (frank)ing retarded.
Take the shackles off =/= let the players do whatever they want. - joecool2931
Why was it retarded?... Yes or no question.
You seem super edgey and sensitive about this.
So do you think every player in the league is equally coachable? |

Looking like a Pearson Brass Horny 3rd line. Grant Cullen Sheahan 4th.
Can’t help but think that 4th loses a bit of hunger/intensity with Wilson out. |

I think when push comes to shove the Pens need to choose between Cullen and Sheahan at the deadline. |

Yeah I thought Wilson had to sneak him there at first with how quickly he dropped him but nope, fair and square he absolutely destroyed him in obscenely short order.
Pens look like they aren’t ready for the level of intensity Washington is gonna bring |
