Thanks Carol,

Full credit to Hutton for stepping up to throw with Paquette. Might be my favourite thing he's done. That said, now that his production numbers have slowed and he's still awful at defending I think it's time to move him back down to bottom pair.

Edit: looking forward to the Hutton lovers trying to tell me he's been good this year but haven't looked at his stats.

Hutton has been growing on me and I mean in a good way not a pimple on my ass way.

He's pretty small, Lefty will lose his poop if we have Hughes, Stecher and Sauce in next year.

I would put Hutton ahead of all of those guys. Heck the first 4 are pretty much 7-8 D on most teams.

Ya his current contract is about right. I'm saying he doesn't deserve much of a raise if at all given how he's played over the past two years. Like I said, I wholeheartedly hope he gets traded as bottom pair guys are not too hard to find. Top4 is another story. I think pushing Stecher down to bottom pair and improving the top would be the best case scenario. Not sure I see Tanev/Edler moving based on how badly this team needs top4

I have never liked Roussel and his style... I can't believe he makes $3m a year. He was the reason the game became chippy. Martel's hit was borderline and could have been punished more then it was... I understand the Canucks being upset but Gudbranson third man in with an uppercut on Martel while the ref and Virtanen have him wrapped up is BS to me.

Other then that I felt the game was a fun fast paced hockey game for most of the first and again in the third as the Canucks had chances to tie the game, they played well enough to potentially win if a bounce in the third went their way but Vasy closed the door and Stamkos got the bounce on the goal that Canucks goalie should have stopped.

With Pettersson, Boeser and Horvat the Canucks have some fun great players to build around.

A blindside hit is total BS too ,and getting fist bumped by the coach on the bench for a cheap shot.

All that aside it was a very fun game.

He doesn't have an NHL contract...

And he doesn't deserve a call up over McEneny

That was the best game I've seen in years. Very entertaining, I didn't think they had that kind of grit. They can lose every game, when you see that kind of push back, and highlight reel goals from the kids you've got my attention.

You mistake my position as Hutton love rather than understanding of current NHL demand for d-men

Edit - also, Gudbranson still sucks

I don't care if they sign him 2 years 3 mil nor do I care if they let him go. He is nothing special. I do like that his game is getting better but he can be replaced.

He may end up traded at some point due to the Edler/Tanev lovefest.

That fist bump was total horsepoop. That's what pissed me off the most. Cheapshots happen all the time in games but when coaches openly condone it...

I wouldn't trust this management group to identify an upgrade for him.

John Garrett got more excited and animated about that fist bump than he does about kraft ketchup, which means he was pretty fired up about it as well.

I've bought into the theory that cheapshots happen because it's a fast, physical game where emotions can get the better of a player. Players, coaches, management, and NHL executives have been chirping that for years. I believed them.

Then you see something like the fist bump. Horsepoop.

One of the reasons I want to avoid the Free agent market is just that.

I don't mind a stop gap signing like Jordie Benn but stick to the plan. I would like to see trades more than free agent signings .

Relax Cooper is not that kind of guy. He was just saying good job for standing up for yourself with two behemoths breathing down on you. And the hit wasn't as bad as everyone is making it out to be. Hits are part of the game and Stech's head was bent over trying to look for the puck in his feet and got cranked. Stecher will be fine.

He was fist-pumped by the coach for taking a few upper cuts from Gudbranson when the ref had Martel pinned while trying to hold Virtanen back, which was a few plays after the Stetcher hit. Stop spreading false narratives.

I thought it was when he got back to the bench after he served his interference penalty. After the Guddy uppercut he went from the penalty box to the dressing room for repairs.

But I could be wrong.
