They are changing the name to Rusty Rocket Richard lol

Is this some type of play on a Rusty Trombone where you miss tongue punching the fart box for 29 games before burying it like 9 times?

I caught the full 3rd and parts of the 1st and 2nd, but I thought the Pens played a solid game. DeSmith is still the #1 IMO, but it will be a good problem to have if him and Murray are both playing well.

My only criticisms:

1) The 4th line didn't look the same.
2) Don't like Phil without Geno.
3) I'm finally over Brass.

I can't believe I'm going to say this, but I think I miss Derek Grant and Wilson.

Welcome to the dark side on Brass.

Unfortunately, in the end, Sid, one of the greatest players ever, is a word I can’t even use here.

He's meeting expectations imo. Unlike in NY, he's got fewer mins and worse linemates (outside of a dismal few mins with sid). I'm not sure I expect the same box score contributions given his role. He's more a perimeter dude anyhow.

Yet i might be one of the few that misses ian mother(frank)er cole

- DeflatedPucks

I’ve missed Cole a ton. Sullivan should’ve been the one to go, not Cole. Malkin doesn’t look good, neither does Kessel. We traded Cole which was our greatest weakness. Sheahan was on a good streak with like 11 points in his previous 17 games prior to the trade

Without a complete idea of the inner workings of the politburo, I'm not sure if Sully or Jimmy has been more to blame for the significant decline in the quality of trades and FA between '17-18. Sully's obstinacy (perhaps he didn't have much clout anyways with Jimmy in year 1) has contributed to a number of personnel moves that don't fall with either the win-now or rebuild younger line of reasoning.
Sheahan, when deployed in the center position (a big IF since he's playing wing sometimes) is fairly solid. Kessel away from Malkin has not looked good tonight. Simon might be the one positive - he's fighting and making plays regardless of the line.
The defense has been a cluster(frank). For having one of the highest paid D's, its embarassing. Hell I wish the guins had Cole (of course, I doubt he's worth 4+). Hell, I'd even be happy with Hunwick (I can't believe I'm saying this)! But JJ? (frank) me senseless.

I miss both players, but I think I miss Wilson more. I thought the Sheahan-Cullen-Wilson line was very good.

I don't necessarily think the fourth line was bad tonight, but they didn't have the presence of the aforementioned.

But yeah, watching Brassard is becoming frustrating as hell.

They played well, they kept a lot of shots to the outside.

This was something the 15/16 Pens were sooooo good at doing.

I dunno about that, that team didn't really give up 40 shots on the regular. They were usually generating 40 shots.

Pens are only 3 back of 1st in the Metro now. Even though the Caps have 2 games in hand that's still pretty nuts given where they were 5 weeks ago.

Beating the Caps in regulation was huge.

It was huge and IMO makes up for losing against Philly since IMO this was a game the Pens were probably NOT expected to win.

I'm hoping with Horn and Simon back the Pens can keep this going to secure a playoff spot. I'm also hoping they still upgrade the defense.

They just make the forward group so much more solid and deep.

Agree. Wilson made no attempt to square off w/ JO. He probably should have received the extra 2 for being the instigator. He clearly skated across the ice, with intent, to fight JO. Wilson was ready. JO was not. We'll see what happens March 12th.

You guys keep saying poop like this, as if Wilson isn't going to do the same thing if they fight again. Give it up.

Wilson did what he did to ensure he won the fight... If he wanted set rules, he'd go be an amateur boxer. But I won't make him out to be a top class hockey fighter if that is the high point of his career.

Cheering for a team that employs Tom Wilson is a disgrace to your reputation. Give it up.
