I don't need hard nosed guys per say, just guys that are strong on their skates and don't get shoved off the puck and fall down in a 5mph breeze. - TheHank
I feel like a lot of teams in the Eastern conference have this problem as well. Leafs have nobody, Tampa maybe with Paquette and Callahan but they are 4th liners. Montreal is soft, Florida isn’t heavy. I think Boston and Washington have the truculence. - Pegullaville

Reinhart won’t settle for $6M. Nylander just got $6.9M. Reinhart will get between $7.5M-$8M a year thanks to Jack. He’d get $6M a year if he had to drive his own line - Pegullaville
Do you remember all the wild speculation over how much he was going to get on his last contract?

Agreed.
My other team is the Bolts...I said last year before the playoffs that they are a realitively soft team and it could be their undoing if they run into not just a tough team, but a punishing physical tea.
BOOM, Ovi, Wilson, Brodie, Oshie and a couple others took Stamkos and Kucherov out of the series after 3 games.
I don't want my favorite team to make the same mistake.

Nah, I want 1 crazy MFer in Bottom 6 who can pot 15-20 goals and handle the tough stuff.
Would like one of the Thacuk-type players as well.
The 4 - 1st rounders over next 2 drafts (and maybe more if we Sell smartly at TDL) should be able to find the truculent Thacuk-type player

Sure you need.a couple guys like that but I want my whole team top to bottom to be strong on their skates and strong on the puck. That doesn't mean agitator or truculent, it merely means don't fall over every time someone looks at you.

Ya, I get it, thanks for clarification.
BTW - speaking of skating ability - Artcle on The Athletic about the skating style that MCDavid honed through years of training...since like 8 or so ... forgot who the trainer is, but he and many others still go to him.
The style teaches "linear cross-over" stides at all times....meaning he is literally using cross-over type strides while skating in a relatively straight line, versus just when making fast turns...the guy is virtually running for the majority of each shift.
Pretty incredible.

Put Skinner on another line without Jack and see how he does .....What you'll probably get is another Orposo but a bit better....Orposo looks great without Tavares right - pwasil7
You do understand his center was Derek Ryan right ? I can’t remember how many goals he had

It's incredible to watch that's for sure. He was the fastest skater in the NHL in his first game.

Idk maybe Homie or 89 can give their insider point of view but I’m sure the agent and Botts had wild discussions over his value too hence the bridge contract. If Reinhart can take a team friendly deal and can spark the 2nd line that would be great. I understand that top line is running on all cylinders but we have no secondary scoring.

I mean.... Gordon himself has had years with all the money and professional resources of the NFL to get clean... No.. I don't feel bad for him personally. But my only point was just being a grown ass man/adult doesn't mean it's a cake walk.
Any way... hope all is well out in the desert. - JVince11
Please correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought his "drug" issues have solely been with pot, and I'm sorry, that shouldn't even be a thing when they're more than willing to pump you full of opioids and NSAIDs like Toradol which are infinitely more dangerous.
And his issues are more psychological than anything else.
Edit: Yeah, rules are rules. I'm just saying the hypocrisy from the league is astounding.

The majority of NFL players smoke pot. They give players 90 days notice b4 a random test. He's a (frank)ing idiot.

I don't disagree.
And it's not exactly true about the 90 days, that's for offseason testing I believe. Eric Reid has been "randomly" tested 6 times in 11 weeks. A 1-588 chance of happening randomly. They takes 10 players per team per week.
