It was a good defensive game against a very good team. - VANTEL
A very good team that completely mailed in its final game before Christmas. We've seen the old great canucks teams do the same thing. Float through a game with a bottom feeder then turn it on for 5 mins for the win. Canucks no doubt played their most complete game of the season and couldn't score one goal. Still lost. Everyone really needs to step down off the bandwagon and realize this team , while improving ... is nowhere close playoff ready. The stretch drive will prove it all out . Sit back and enjoy the development ! |

Yes. I could see WPG too oddly enough. They have knocked on Edler before. - LordHumungous
I can’t see Winnipeg as a agreeable destination, he would have to learn how to play with an edge and cheap shot, not in his game. |

Nope bad loss. They played good but blew coverage in the last minute. Worst time to have a breakdown. |

Regardless of the post above, both teams played a great game last night, games do not need to be 7-6, 1-0 is fun and exciting, Canucks are looking better. |

I am more interested in why Wahlstrom is the odd man out when imo he is the best player in that group at forward. - thundachunk
Are you serious? Wahlstrom is very lucky to have made the team. He isn’t remotely close to being the best player |

Exactly. Teams don't turn on a switch and go from basement dwellers to SCF teams in a blink of an eye . There is a process and Canucks are finding out what it takes to become that type of team. Winnipeg Nashville and TB all went through the same climb. Canucks are doing very good .
Vintsy can call them jokingly Moral Victories , most of us look at them as lessons. |

I will be honest for me it is Madden beating Hughes out of the center spot. I knew he has been getting a lot of positive press .
I have heard a few insiders talking about Hughes and his potential , they all say he is very good but he in not a generational player and may not even be the best player in next years draft. It will be interesting to see how this plays out .
Wahlstrom is a bit of a surprise. - VANTEL

I was worried they were going to let him off again. Stars should always have the same treatment, 2 is good |

Nice sample size. He has been dog sh!t in the NCAA and didn’t deserve to make the team |

I was asking, hence the question mark. It was a busy night, I didn't see even a minute of the game, but 1-0 against one of the top 3 or 4 teams sounds like a moral victory to me.
And, was it a good game? Did Canucks keep it close by playing stifling defense, or was it fast paced, back and forth, great goaltending etc? |
