He does have an NTC but there's nothing stopping them from negotiating with him and trying to convince him to move on.

They mishandled the Hamhuis situation by waiting too long to get him to waive. Can't afford to do the same thing here if they hope to be a legitimate contender within Benning's tenure. Getting value for Edler could be a very important consideration for Benning's job security.

Edler is still a very good D-man , he is overplayed , due to no other options , the next 3 yrs we have everyone's savior Hughes coming so the cap is no problem while QH in on entry level

In what universe do you think it makes any sense to pay a 33 yr old d man 5 to 6 mil a year on a multi year deal at the developmental stage this team is at?
