It is good to see the team competing, I will say as of today I’m pleasantly surprised. I have always stated that I would wait for the new year before evaluating the talent, coach and GM. Well almost new year and I think this team is better Thani have thought they would be.

I think Edler will be extended, with Joulevi out long term it has changed the landscape, and I’m not sure how many will be upset but it won’t be 3x3.

Sutter I can see being moved a TDL, I think a first is overpriced but go for the best deal possible.

And just to be controversial.....Gudbranson is a good defender and glad he is on the team.

they were 37 and the league has gone to more speed and taken away a lot of the 1 v 1battles that were tolerated for years , that allowed the Twins cycle game to flourish . we have NO LD that can stepin and do what Edler does for us right now and even next year.

i'm not holding onto the past , and I'm not going to throw out a good player just because he has a birthday in his 30's . the cap is what it is , and having more DelZottos on the cheap is not how you surround you budding stars a 3 yr deal will not implode the Canucks future like you think

and maybe he's EP's buddy/mentor and there is more behind it then we see , now factor in the cost of alienating your budding superstar by making decisions based on the fear of keeping the past around another few years

I'll admit that I have a bias against defensemen who struggle at passing/skating the puck out of their zone. Can't help it, it's annoying for me to watch, I like attacking/transition hockey.

They don't have to be Karlsson's, but they should at least be able to do what Tanev and Edler do and make a good "first pass" out of the zone onto a teammate's stick.

Geez man you must hate all of Vancouver’s defense including Edler and Tanev, everyone is suspect skating out of the zone, I hate subjective stats but my eyes tell me the entire back line turns the puck over skating out of the zone.

I remember mentioning this during the loosing streak. But they are getting it together.

Tanev, Edler and Stecher are really the only guys that can skate it out of the zone. Hutton a bit but he coughs up a lot of pucks so they have him passing more. EG, MZ, POU and Biega are all hopeless at it.

"/" meaning the ability to pass or skate it out, they don't have to be good at both, just one is good enough. There's no one you can tell me that those aren't decent at passing the puck out of their zone. There's no way Green would play them against top lines if that were the case.
