Well I just watch a crazy present opening, those girls are so spoiled. It was sure nice being able to just lean out of camera shot and take a puff. I wish I was there now, they are bbqing prawns and chicken satay for Christmas lunch.

It is my belief Jim Benning can make Edler waive but Edler ultimately gets to choose the destination. Good, bad, or indifferent, replacing him would be hard to do on the open market so it really depends on what's coming back.

I'm not sure that's what I saw on TV but as far as him saying over and over that he won't accept a trade... that is pure assertion by media and fans. More or less a group think narrative. A lot of people say that but not Edler. Edler has said many times he wants to stay.... but that is no indication that he will refuse a trade if it's appealing.

We went through the same thing about both Kesler and Burrows. "They will always be Canucks they bleed blue and green blah blah blah". Both guys were traded... the group think got it wrong on so many levels. Kesler who would never leave spent 2 years requesting a trade. The bumhole wouldnt follow the group think narrative.

Thanks. He seems open... maybe not wide open but open none the less. One thing I'm certain about, he isnt on record anywhere saying he'll never accept a trade. If I'm wrong, I'd like to see it but I'm confident there will be spin applied if anyone comes up with a quote. I've seen media quoted on it here... but people often fail to see the difference between a Botchford speculation and an Edler quote.

Evan Bouchard is being torched today on social media. I really think Canucks got the best player in the last two drafts. Time will tell.

I wasn’t wanting either Bouchard or Dobson unless we got another 1st.

We are basically a top 2 dman, goaltender, and another top 6 winger away from being competitive IMO.

Hughes will step into the top 2 role IMO but will take time.

Demko could be the answer but many questions still exists including Dipietro.

Free Agency might be an option for a top 6 winger to play with Bo but it's looking like it might be a draft pick.

We're getting there albeit slowly.

Good take or at least an Elite player who can dominate.

I don't mind keeping both, to be honest. I think Edler still has three good years in him. I only trade Tanev if we get a good return, I don't take calls for a low first rounder.

I am fine either way, as much as I always want a roster turnover, before it is too late to get anything for them, his game is fairly steady and will be for another 3 plus seasons.
Edler's biggest problem for some Canucks fans is, he isn't shiny/flashy enough, as many seem to think, that is what is needed to win a Cup.
