I knew his numbers were inflated from the start. His contract will be deadly. |

I haven't seen enough of his defensive game to fully commit to a Selke vote but i definitely agree he's one of if not the most underrated. - NorthNuck
have a look at his corsi adjusted and penalty differential. He is never out of position. Honestly, ever. |

Fair point however Edler/Tanev dmen are a dime/dozen whether they are here or not will really make no difference. But I do think one will get moved at TDL and one will stay...depends on the deal. - LordHumungous
no Top 4 D (that are actually that good, not Hutton) are dime a dozen. There's less than are qualified to play those minutes in the NHL... it's the complete opposite, they're scarce. |

I think Lordy was arguing more to the fact that Manvan and Vantel were discussing Friedmans take on how Edler is worth a late first. Edler and Tanev are NHL defenseman, and top 4 defenseman on MOST teams, zero doubt. Having said that, if the pick of value for either is a late 1st, one would have to assume that the pick would be coming from a team that is top 4 or 5 from the West or East in the standings, and on those specific teams, do either of them warrant a late 1st to play 2nd pairing. I think a good argument for their value is the fact that Hamonic plays 2nd pairing, and cost the Flames a 1st, a two 2nd round picks. |

Hard to get up to mid-season form, but ya that's not much! I traded him and Farabee for Tavares in my Dynasty pool. #steal |

Well Tanev isn't a rental, neither was Hamonic. So I would expect the cost to be higher, frankly. Otherwise, yes I agree late first at best. I think Colorado, TB, TOR all have Edler on their radar if he becomes available. Playoff EXP is pretty important for a rental on those teams except TB. |

Edler and Tanev are on pace to hit career highs for points in a season. |

I don't think you acquire either player for their point production though tbh. Edler maybe more-so than Tanev, but I don't think that is what is appealing to other teams about those defenders. |

Will you be disappointed when Tanev and Edler are still here at the end of the year?

nope. not at all. I truly think both will be here to start training camp next year. If Hughes plays top 4 next year, I don't want him around Stecher/Hutton/Gudbranson/Pouliot/MDZ/Biega. |

I don't mind keeping both, to be honest. I think Edler still has three good years in him. I only trade Tanev if we get a good return, I don't take calls for a low first rounder. |

it still blows my mind that people think we had much of a choice when it came to dealing the twins to other teams after their contract/age/clauses were taken into consideration. The lineup with teams who had 14 million in cap space for two 36 year old players must have been long lol |
