World Juniors is my favourite time of year. I always get excited for this tourney. I think its the best hockey to watch. UPL had a huge game last night in pre-tournament play. I'm excited to watch Samuelsson, Laaksonen, Pekar and see how they stack up. |

unless they go after a blues d man, I really want to just be sellers right now
including sheary for the right price - homiedclown
Blues defensemen...
Pietrangelo- will cost a lot
Parayko- will cost, but not as much as Piets
*for the right price, i think I’d be cool with both of the above options
BUT
We’d need to factor in what we are gonna give to Seattle to then protect Pilut
J Bo- no thanks. Old & declining
I like Dunn & Edmundson, but both LH
No need to create even more of a logjam than we have

I agree, but I wouldn't replace Sheary with one of those guys. Okposo and Pommer to the press box
Olofsson-Mitts-Smith
Sheary-Wilson-Sobotka
Erod-Lockport-Latvian
I know, it's unthinkable to play 3 rookies together |

Cap Friendly as of December 20th: "Having cleared unconditional waivers, Patrik Berglund's contract has now been terminated by the Buffalo #Sabres.
Berglund is now an unrestricted free agent free to sign with any club he chooses.
Sabres now have $2,435,913 in projected cap space with a roster of 22" (13F/7D/2G)
And with Berglund coming off the books saved us $2.2M this year so at one point we did have 200K of cap space so suck it - Pegullaville
I’m surprised the Players Union didn’t try to fight it at all
Good news for us |

If that 2nd line produces we are going to scare a lot of teams come playoff time. Jack will produce no matter what. - Pegullaville
That’s why i wanna tinker with the lineup NOW
I feel pretty secure at this point that we will be a playoff team
If we can at least get the 2nd line going,
then maybe we can make a little noise |

The D is better this year because of Steve Smith.
I have no issue with ERod, has a small cap hit ($650K), has speed and seems like a decent bottom 6 player 5 on 5.
The issue is Sheary and Okposo. 12 goals for $9M. Not good.
Ullmark has been good, future #1.
Hats off to Housley. And Botts. I would like to see a move after the break.
Merry Xmas you filthy whores.

Sure but one of them is 6 mil and the other is 3, and the 6 mil has less goals.
I get what you mean, but I wouldn’t necessarily lump them together yet |

from the current roster
how many players do you keep for next year if you could make a bunch go away
IMO it's 5
jack, skinner, skunk, tage and casey
I could care less about every other forward
they are all blah, soft and unable to score - homiedclown
Ideally...
Jack, Mitts & Sam (at Center?)
Skinner is the only “winger” i 100% want
Thompson is young, so I’m ok with him being here. But not if he’s playing with Sobotka or on the 4th line. That’s just dumb
I’ve obviously not been a fan of him as a prospect (average skater, we wanna get faster- and he doesn’t use his size)
But he’s also young & has skill (shot),
so it’s certainly possible he could prove me dead wrong (which would be awesome!)
I’d use Tage as a trade piece though
Okposo- move him, but is that realistic?
Sobotka- fine with him on line4 ONLY
Pommer- on a cheap deal, to play line4, ok
E Rod- liked last year. I wanna see more
Bailey- i still wanna see more
*lets give the other Roch guys a look too
Sheary-
I think could provide some speed & get scoring again if he plays with Jack or Mitts gets going
But i won’t lose sleep if he’s moved
Larsson & Girgs-
I got BLASTED last year when i told everyone they “weren’t actually that bad” and “just needed to be played in the right role- not top9”
Both worth bringing back at current deals unless someone wants to make us an offer worth taking
Wilson- depth forward line4, take or leave
*this leaves us with a lot of line4 guys imo though... so yeah, don’t bring them all back
Look to play a couple Roch guys on line3 with limited icetime & mostly O-Zone starts
Did i forget anyone?
***i want us to go after Stone big time
He can score & is a great defensive forward
Worth the 8mil he’d cost imo
And i do think he & Skinner can fit long term
Use those 1sts to draft forward depth
And don’t pay guys big $$$ unless you’re 100% sure they’re “core” players long term |

Problem is that he hasn’t done much at all away from Stamkos
Could just be another Sheary
So if we get him cheap, then sure
But i doubt NyR would do that |

Elie, Wilson, Hunwick on waivers
there is your moves
Merry Christmas Al

Al approves.
And those waiver moves make sense, although I doubt any team would have interest, maybe Hunwick.
Happy Xmas to you Clown.
Cheers! |
