The forward group is a tough one to predict if you are looking out to 2021-22 for example. In think you could see Skinner-Eichel-Reinhart as a line and young guys like Mitts, Olofsson, Tage, Asplund, Nylander in the other lines. The picks are tough to gage who we get and this year both our pick and the SJ pick could be in the 20's.

I see the D group to be Dahlin, Risto, Pilut, McCabe, Samuelsson and possibly even Borgen with a vet in there somewhere.

If Guhle is the 3rd pair LD,
then a stay-at-home type partner like Borgen could be a good fit

It’s nice to be able to look forward to some defensemen we have coming instead of dreading it

I think Reinhart can really thrive in the “Kadri” role so to speak. Obviously we don’t the luxury just yet to run Jack, Mitts, Sam down the middle but it would be nice to see. Maybe one of the first rounders ends up as the 3C and Rhino is Jack or Mitts permanent RW. Either works with me.

That would be ideal
Depends if the kids from Rochester can fill in on the wings though

I read a few comments from former players Oskar Sundqvist and TJ Oshie that they seemed genuinely concerned for Berglund and there might have been some personal issues going on. Strange.

Hutton expressed the same sentiment

After going off on him last blog, I would keep Tage into next TDL.
That said, he needs to show significant improvement
-add alot of m scle and strength
-skating, edge-work and quick turns/change of direction.
-faster release

Thompson's toe-drag builds the energy for his wrister from the compression on the stick. He has a hell of a slapper too. What we haven't seen is an accurate powerful shot with no wind up

Erod brings speed and thats about it this season. Too much of a perimeter player. He can go.

Wasn't the one off the post either last game or against the Caps with zero wind up.

Might have been... I wouldn't want to say because I'm not sure. He didn't score on it either way. The best goal scorers can get their shots away quickly (Vanek's half-slap). That's what we need to see. He's not a playmaker, so he needs to learn to score at the NHL level

If his comparison is Larsson than we should all agree he has no long term future here

He's cheap, and he's not really going to hurt you. He's also besties with your franchise player. On a small team like a hockey team, "room fit" matters. It's way down the list, but all else being equal they're taking the guy who's not an bumhole.

Last year I agree. This year he has a few times.

The San Jose game in particular, he takes two 3rd period penalties and had a brutal turnover in either reg. Or OT (I cant remember now) and was pretty close to costing us one or two points.

Like I said I’m totally fine with him as the 12th or 13th forward but he’s torally taken a step back from last year

I'm willing to give him time. Especially because he's not relied upon to be a big part of the team. His wife just had their first kid. That's a hell of an adjustment, or so I've heard.

The way it looks now, he'll come into camp battling for 4C or 13/14F against Larsson, Malone, Asplund, and a slew of wingers. Let them battle it out. The competition gets kicked up another notch next year.

I'm not convinced Ullmark is a true number one. Ullmark still gives up odd rebounds and has trouble finding the puck in tight situations. The Sabres defense protects him very well keeping shots to the outside and letting him see pucks. He and Hutton are definitely an upgrade to Lehner but we still have not a championship goalie in a Sabres uniform. Perhaps UPL or Johansson might develop into that role. Either that or maybe we can get Dustin Wolf or Spencer Knight.

Blinded by the Light
Manfred Mann's Earth Band
Blinded by the light
Revved up like a deuce
Another runner in the night
Blinded by the light
Revved up like a deuce
Another runner in the night
Blinded by the light
Revved up like a deuce
Madman drummers bummers
Indians in the summer
With a teenage diplomat
In the dumps with the mumps
As the adolescent pumps
His way into his hat
With a boulder on my shoulder
Feelin' kinda older
I tripped the merry-go-round
With this very unpleasin'
Sneezin' and wheezin
The calliope crashed to the ground
The calliope crashed to the ground
Well she was
Blinded by the light
Revved up like a deuce
Another runner in the night
Blinded by the light
Revved up like a deuce
Another runner in the night
Blinded by the light
Revved up like a deuce
Another runner in the night
Blinded by…
Some silicone sister
With a manager mister
Told me I got what it takes
She said
"I'll turn you on sonny to something strong
Play the song with the funky break"
And go-cart Mozart
Was checkin' out the weather chart
See if it was safe outside
And little early-pearly
Came by in his curly-wurly
And asked me if I needed a ride
The calliope crashed to the ground
Well she was
Blinded by the light
Revved up like a deuce
Another runner in the night
Blinded by the light
Revved up like a deuce
Another runner in the night
Blinded by the light
Revved up like a deuce
Another runner in the night
Blinded by the light
Revved up like a deuce
Another runner in the night
Blinded by the light
Revved up like a deuce
Another runner in the night
Blinded by the light
Revved up like a deuce
Another runner in the night
Blinded by the light
Revved up like a deuce
Another runner in the night
Blinded by the light
Revved up like a deuce
Another runner in the night
Blinded by the light
Revved up like a deuce
Another runner in the night
Blinded by the light
She got down but she never got tight
She's gonna make it through the night

Lyrics

Manfred Mann's Earth Band's recording of the song changes the lyrics. The most prominent change is in the chorus, where Springsteen's "cut loose like a deuce" is replaced with "revved up like a deuce."This is commonly misheard as "wrapped up like a douche". The lyric is actually a reference to a hot rod "deuce coupe." Springsteen was fond of classic hot rods in his youth, hence the line "cut loose like a deuce, another runner in the night." Springsteen himself has joked about the controversy, claiming that it was not until Manfred Mann rewrote the song to be about a feminine hygiene product that it became popular.
