I am happy with the depth, we are starting to gather, even if 1 in 5 pan out on the big club, which is probably a realistic number.
After years of having Shinkaruk Grenier Gaunce and Corrado as the only hope, it is nice having some others to at least talk about.

100% agree. There’s no way for all of them to work out. I think Dahlen looks solid, he’s got a upward arc. McCann is already deserving of mockery, but we made the most of it by getting a roster player.

Edit: maybe not mockery, but he looks like a bottom 6 guy at best imo.

The reffing in the game was extremely biased, in my opinion. I watched several suspect calls against Finland, and then blatant infractions against Finland but no whistle. Crowd was a little vocal, would have been a different game if called fairly.

I just hope whoever is the GM, in the years to come, that we have prospects always entering into the system.
As you said/implied, never can you have too many prospects or depth in your organization.

At this point in time for Honka, i would probably have to make a comparable in value to when Van traded for DP. 23 years old with 79 NHL games and only 13 points. Still some time but its not looking good.

Lindell I guess is the only real guy up for a raise then... they could be big spenders this offseason! Hinka was a much better Ahler than pou pou though.

Julius Honka's brother Anttoni some have rated in at the end of the first round in this years draft. Might be a buyer's beware on him thanks to his brother.

Jake needs to get back on the scoresheet more frequently if he wants to be a top 6 winger in the NHL.

That same situation surrounds the other impact defensive options. Tyler Myers, Jake Gardiner and Anton Stralman are arguably the next three best rentals, and all could potentially be on different teams next season. But the Winnipeg Jets, Toronto Maple Leafs and Tampa Bay Lightning are all legitimate Stanley Cup contenders and need these players to keep them on that track. Zdeno Chara can make an impact, but holds a full no-movement clause and almost certainly will not leave Boston even if they fell out of the playoff race (something that seems unlikely anyway).

Those circumstances mean that the defensive rental market could be relatively shallow this season, with Alex Edler really being the crown jewel. Edler has been logging huge minutes for the Vancouver Canucks as they continue their rebuild and could help several teams, but beyond that names like Nick Jensen, Roman Polak and Alex Petrovic start popping up.
