Greens driving the tank tonight! LE on the top line and guddy/hutty just need to get caught out there against mcjesus once - neem55
You do know that Hutton and Gudbranson were paired last time they met and did alright, also Erickson was on the line with Bo in that game as well.
Looks like they have put Roussel, who also matched up against McDavid last game, with Beagle, so they can have that line also ready to match up against McDavid.
Good call by the coach. |

He made Captain of his team in Russia two days later he was demoted. - thundachunk
that seems completely f&%ked to me - he's a good player but he must be a head case. |

That’s good, the last ‘weak’ draft we got the best player on our team. - neem55
I thought the 2013 draft was pretty strong. |

I just hope they add him as a throw in, so we Don't have to hear about him again. - Reubenkincade
Yup - ship him out for some hotdogs for lefty so we can stop hearing about him. If he was 6’2 no one would speak his name. So annoying |

I was actually thinking something along that line but more to thinking that just means someone is going to unearth a prospect that will stand out. |

I really like Green, fully expect a loss and mcjesus to have a big game. Just taking the piss a little. And yes, I fully think hutt/gud get torched. It’s good they can sprinkle some good games into them being a train wreck |

2014 was called weak and turned out to be pretty solid, quite a few impact NHL'ers drafted in the 1st round. |

Alright well Bo may be our best, I won’t argue there. I do remember being told how weak EP’s draft was by several on here, including Donny, which is my point. |

Even if Tree wanted to come back I doubt the canucks would have interest. I have no doubt they have shopped his rights and found no interest. Kid is a pu$$y and a head case - CanuckDon
I wouldn’t be upset if they signed him to a new SPC, would be like a free prospect. But I also don’t care if he never plays in NA again either. |

EP is a generational talent in a draft where many on this board was saying there isn’t one. That’s all I’m saying. I think Hughes is that good, still maybe not the best out of the top 5-10 so I hope we pick high |

I knew who you meant and hope Elias does become our best player. I am just happy that we have 2 very solid options at centre for the top 2 lines. |

Hell ya, looks like we got our 1C. I’m starting to come around to vantels position of wanting another dman. Byram would be a nice story. Ill be keeping an eye on soderstrom and broberg when i go to the game on saterday night |

Drafting kids and projecting how they will turn out has to be 1 of the hardest parts of the job, in any sport.
You either look good or get booed. |

Its a sign of the lack of D in the system. Consider people bring up Brisbois and Rathbone and Chatfield and Sautner as if they're ever guaranteed to be players. No surprise people still bring up the one that actually played in the NHL. |

The "best" part of EP is that before he came along, if your projected C depth for the future was Horvat, Gaudette, Sutter... you're rail thin. That's not a C group that you would project could go toe to toe with teams that win cups.
EP's opened up ice and matchups for Horvat, and vice versa. |

I mean he seems a good player if he grows up a bit, at the very least should have some trade value |

He has zero value above throw-in until he's on a NA contract.
If he can come back and be a solid 5 that would be terrific. With Hughes, and depending on your confidence in OJ, in the top 4 there's going to be a need for size on the D. |

I've seen two Giants games this year and Byram was dynamite.
This will date me a bit, but I haven't seen a Dman play that much in junior since Brendan Witt. Felt like Byram was out there 40 minutes and he was making things happen. |

He was selected in the mid 20’s. He has now played 200 NHL games, and is a bottom 6 forward. I’d say he has achieved exactly what the expectations should have been for him based on his draft position. - 1970vintage

I miss the old WHL man. Felt like every game had a line brawl. That was rough, hard, (frank)ing mean hockey played by rambunctious kids who seemed to want a Gordie How Hattrick instead of a normal hattrick.
I remember one with Kamloops vs Portland where there were 10 sets of gloves and sticks on the ice after a fight and somehow there was one fighting major and roughing penalty a side. |

He is the type we need in the system at this point. A minute munching all-situations defender would be perfect at this stage of the rebuild. |

Its always a debate, especially at the youth level, but even at the pro level teams rarely put more than 8 or so on the boatd..even if they can...It's sportsmanship as well as just bad hockey Karma...
Alot of my Canadian friends today are saying they are embarrassed by Canada's 14 spot put up last night in the Worlds...
What say you?
Ek's blog today. - manvanfan
I say 14 goals wasnt enough and the Canadians should have checked more from behind and swung the sticks higher. The we riot.

If they draft him they should send him to a one of those old correctional schools where they would beat the kids who were left handed until they were right handed. |
