Sure, that's fair. I think lack of support fir Goldy has been a pretty commin thread on here well beyond October though. - neem55
Pad his stats and trade him. Sell high. That's where I've been on him all season. Don't hate him... even if he can't grow facial hair.

So i'm getting a new 50 to 55 inch uhd hdr tv.
Samsung or LG? Other contenders?
Anyone here know?
I'm hitting the boxing week sales, under $800, less is best, picture quality trumps all.
Thanks.
wildcard is within reach. - Pres.cup
I went Panasonic, found picture quality better than both of those you mentioned, and a bit cheaper than both. |

He's still useless ... picking up soft points from two of the hottest young players in the game. Can Goldie drive the play ? Nope... back check.... nope.... remain focused on his positioning for his entire shift? Still nope. Block shots....play the body... kill penalties ? Nope nope nope. Honestly just what the (frank) can he actually contribute to this team other then to catch alot of second assists on his linemates goals? Leivo has scored more goals on that line In a week then goldie has playing on it almost the entire season . - Bullfrog77
You are right. He won't fit the culture of this team regardless of his point production down the road. Trade bait.

Refs are paid off in professional leagues across the world. While not being fair to paint all refs with the same brush, its ignorant to not think they are capable of bias. They 100% are. Just ask burrows re Auger - Codes1087

I was pretty happy with the Beagle signing. He was a favourite in Washington, even if it was to their determent when he was getting minutes over OV. Guy's a 4th line hero. And we were so poop on the faceoffs last year, sometimes you just need to pay for the guy with the skill set you need. - micah555
I liked it as well. Didnt think we needed to sign 3 bottom sixers but 2 of 3 have been outstanding none the less. Motte makes Shaller a waste of a roster spot imo.

Stay with the big 2 if you can Sony or Samsung. LG is ok but not on their level IMO.
For $800 I would go with the Sony 55" 750/850 series might be a bit closer to $999 but worth the few hundred extra.
To be honest I would just spend $1299 and get the 55" Sony 900F. reviews exceptionally well and has 'full array local dimming' which models under $1000 just don't have. Black levels on the Sony are great it's the model I'm looking at but I'm going 65".
or the Samsung 55" Q8 might be a touch more than the Sony 900F but well worth it. - LordHumungous
In my experience, it’s all about the black levels and refresh rate. Find a brand with the best range in these two categories and you should be more than satisfied with any choice of brand.

Canucks are so fortunate to have drafted this kid, yes well done Benning & Brackett, his ability to think the game is really above and beyond, elite, if you will.
Personally I hate the McDavid comparisons because Connor McDavid is the best player in the league today, he's really in a league of his own, no one can do the things he does...no one.
McDavid also came into the NHL a year younger than Pettersson, at the age Pettersson is now McDavid put up 30-70-100. - LeftCoaster
I think we should say well done to Delorme as he was the one pumping the kids tires.

Facts get smacks.
That's like saying Jack Hughes is a better player then Austin Matthews because he put up similar PPG while he was a year younger.

Just buy a tv with a greater refresh rate of 120 hz. Anything below and you’ll start getting pixelation during fast motion. |

True. Which is why I usually recommend full array local dimming such as the Sony 900F has. Edge lighting has gotten much better yes but you just won't find great black levels or refresh rates on models under $800 for the most part. Unless one can find a blowout model new in box of a higher end nature and those deals are out there. Right around March every year the new models hit the shelves and if one is shrewd enough you can grab a NIB model that was around $2699 for $1500. those are the best deals to me when it comes to black levels and such.
OLED is a tech you want to stay way from right now. Black levels amazing yes but they still have been unable to fix the burn in issues and retention problems like old plasma used to have. The full array LED's are still the way to go IMO. The Samsung Q8 looks amazing but is pricey and their panels outlast the Sony's too. Also to bear in mind in today's tv market is most of the panels are built by robots now and have a life expectancy of 5-7-9 years which sucks. I've seen panels go in less than 6 years now which sucks if one is spending over $2000 on a higher end model. |
