so that leaves you with 5 mil to sign about 9 contracts next year?
as per capfriendly - Brooks_Light
16 million for 8 contracts...
What math are you using? |

Actually it’s 10 mil for 8 contracts. 74 committed now per cap friendly. Leaving 5 mil In space. Poss new cap would be around 84 that’s another 5. So 10. Def not 18 mil |

It's probably going to be around 8 to 10 mil with a couple low priced RFA's to sign. Will def need a 3c and 4c. 3c is the only semi-expensive piece. It would seem that at least one of their current D will be traded. Oleksiak or Maatta are the obvious choices....so that will add another 2 to 4 mil. I doubt they will try to dump JJ at this point unfortunately. Bottom line, they don't have a cap problem next year. |

I'm unsure if this person is trying to do this from Sid's point of view or his own. |

I dunno but that’s more in line with what I wanted the Pens to do this offseason. I really like the makeup of that team. I wanted de Haan, Skinner, and Duclair. |

Same. I think I read the Pens tried for Skinner but either balked at giving up Rust or Skinner didn’t want to come here. I don’t remember which or if it was both.
I reaaallly wanted De Haan. |

Who knows. Could have just been media bullpoop.
Well, I attempted one super convoluted re-tool doing armchair GM lol. We all know how I am with trades, so here's what I did:

I'm a fan of TVR. I think he's an underrated dman. IMO, aside from being a 3rd pairing RD, he's a high-level 3rd pairing dman.
Again, super (frank)in convoluted series of moves that would never happen, but I'm killing time right now.
The cap is off because I don't know how to add in the LTIR from Schultz |

@Guile reading Facebook comments on sports is worse than reading sport tweets. People are so uninformed it’s brutal. Personally, I was hoping to get Jake for Hornqvist numbers or even 5.5 but I think 6 is fine.
My new female roommate and I were talking Tyler Seguin and Jamie Benn last night and she thinks they’re cute so she watches a bunch of their games last year. She read the article and was comparing what management said recently against what those two did last year... Ope! Management clearly said they were thrilled with last season and are not pleased with the outcome thus far this season. Personally, I haven’t watched them much at all this season but their power play numbers are down from last year. I think that’s expected when Klingberg goes down but their 5v5 numbers are still solid even if they’re not consistent shift after shift |

Dude from Pittsburgh hockey now, Dan Kingerski or whatever said it’s a big risk and a gamble of a contract. Dudes a (frank)ing joke. - j.boyd919
No kidding. I’m pretty sure he’s the guy who was boasting about how genius of a signing JJ was this offseason. Could’ve been one of the other guys but I thought it was him. It was basically the opposite take from RW |

Oh barf. It’s sad to admit it, but it honestly stresses me out. I’m a non-commissioned loan officer so I give people free advice all the time - just seems like a good way to make referral sources. Anyways, it hurts me to see people uninformed, misinformed, or throwing away assets (time and money being the most expensive assets, typically) |

Quick side note to this. My friend owns her car outright with no lien but pays interest on $2500 in credit card debt. Like, what?
It’s so unfortunate. It’s been like this for like 8 months now where she had the ability to make more than the minimum payment and just never did. It hurts |

I design health care applications... and I'm nearing 60 hours this week. I need anything to keep me from stabbing people. Feeling superior to stupid hockey fans on Facebook works for me lately. |

People have been saying Murray is the type of player that needs somebody pushing him. I didn't buy into that theory initially, but I'm starting to become a believer. Guy just looks different since DeSmith was flirting with the starting job. |

All the more reason to play DeSmith more frequently. |

It’s a fair deal. He’s a good player in a great spot. He’s one of the undersized vanilla players the pens have I don’t mind because he’s extremely consistent. |

I don’t buy that that was a fair fight by any means but if JO wants to be a tough guy in the league he needs more of a killer instinct. Though when you’re jumped by a punk what are you gonna do? |
