Now we know why nobody picked Kole Lind. Let Brackett make the picks Jimmy boy.
In other news, some scouts have Broberg in the 17-20 area for the draft, if we are drafting anywhere near there we should definitely take him. He will be the steal of the draft. - pker2theend
its almost like the prospect pipeline isn't deep at all and this team could have used extra picks in past drafts and still really needs to (frank)ing kill it going forward.
EP graduated and the forward prospects turned into Dahlen (2nd line winger), Gaudette (new gen 3C) and Lind (top 9 skater) and then lottery tickets in Jasek, Gadjoveich, Macewen and Palmu. Nothing special coming through the system to fix the wings. |

It's official. Gaudette has been sent down.

Thats good. Felt like Horvat took as many shifts with Gaudette's wingers on Thursday as he did. And with NB refusing to use him on the PP, except net front for some (frank)ing reason, the team wasn't putting the kid anywhere to succeed.
He'll slot back into the 2C in Utica. Hopefully finds something with Lind or Jasek. Maybe even work some early familiarity in with Macewen and see if they can bring it to the NHL for camp next year. |

Not a bust but you have to admit that he looks a step behind in the AHL, overmatched mentally and physically in too many games.
Next summer is big for him, he needs to put in a lot of work to keep up at this level.
He’s definitely a longer term prospect at this point. |

All it takes is 18 professional games to determine a players ability. |

Now the question is who is bumped out when Sutter returns, since Leivo has earned his current role in the top 9. - dbot
I can't imagine Granlund stays a regular. I honestly have no idea what Granlund does out there. He's not particularly fast or good defensively, he's pretty dog piss offensively, not a strong PK player.
Schaller's gotta be sent down unless they find a taker for MDZ |

Granlund has been doing well in the P.K.
good in the forecheck.
Pretty good cheap 4th line vet.
But yes. He’s probably the odd man out.

Last year a lot of fans had him above Dahlen and considered him an "untouchable" prospect. This year, if the Canucks were buyers, I don't think teams would be asking for Lind in any discussion.
I think it was CA or the Athletic that had something that was basically like "Kole Lind will probably be a third liner" and people poop their pants. Main argument was that Lind basically sure had fun riding shotgun with Dube as he played the most CHL Scorer game a CHL scorer could play. |

Yeah I don’t get it either.
For me watching him compared to Beagle and Motte is night and day. Those guys bust their asses every shift and make life tough for their opponents, meanwhile I see Granlund just floating around half the time like he’s some sort of top 6 scorer. Which sucks because he’d be really valuable if he played with more energy since he’s more skilled than Motte. |

I see more people here labeling OJ as a bust who was putting up points in the NHL vs Kole with 3 assists in 24 games. |

He was out several weeks with an elbow injury, could be affecting his shooting...or just not good enough yet.
Like Nucker says, as did Lind himself, he wasn't expecting such a big difference between Junior and ahl...needs to put in the work this summer. |

He's been better on the PK without being attached to Schaller, but his results still aren't anything to write home about.
I don't see this good on the forecheck or good on the boards stuff people bring up with him. I just don't. He's no better than any depth forward there.
He's a cheap depth player, and that's fine, but he shouldn't be bolted into the lineup. |

Unfortunately the injuries forced him into the NHL but this is best for him, hopefully he goes down and finds success immediately. |

I don't think he's got more offence than Motte at all. Granlund's gotten 100+ more minutes on the PP this year than Motte and has all of 2 assists to show for it. He plays 3+ minutes a game more too and usually with more talented players.
They probably shoot the puck the same but Motte's work effort is miles ahead and his speed makes him a much bigger weapon offensively, relatively speaking. |
