Pouliot has done more than Pedan, but i don't think anyone would mind if he was shipped off somewhere else now.

I like Guddy and what he brings to the team.
Maybe Woo can replace him at some point, but not yet.

- dbot

Of course he’s better than Pedan, but they gave up an early 4th too. I’d take that for a guy who might not even be on the team next year.

I’d happily take 2nd + prospect over Guddy and use the money/spot to sign a Pateryn/Benn type to replace him.

Let’s just agree to disagree here lol

I don’t know what you mean by that? Who else should they fire?

I think you're doing a bad job of explaining your position here, mainly due to hyperbole suggesting that he's done absolutely "nothing" other than bring in EP/Brock lol.

I believe that Benning is doing fine laying the foundation here(assuming Hughes and the first round pick this year pans out), but I don't believe he has the necessary skills to take this team from a bubble team or first round exit type off team to contender status down then line.

If Hughes pans out then he's done a good enough job laying down the foundation for the next GM who can hopefully be stingy when it comes to contracts/signings/trades etc and surround the core with a strong supporting cast without going through cap hell before the team has even reached contender status.

- Nucker101

I can agree with this but if he keeps drafting prospects that get the fans excited and the team keeps improving than I do but he’s going anywhere.

Aquilini loves this team and spent 10 mil under the cap. I don't think he has plans of moving anyone anytime soon

Ugh.
This conversation is boring.

Sven for a 2nd = trade win
Granlund for Shink, trade win
Eddlie Lack for whatever, win.
Burrows for Dahlen, yup.
Hansen for Goldobin. All day.
Pouliot for Pedan, still a win.
Vanek for Motte. I'll take it.
Leipsic for Holm, worth the risk.
Leivo for AHLer. Winner winner. chicken dinner.

Gudbransson and a 5th for McCann, 2nd and 4th rounder.
I still got no problem with that trade.

I rest my case, none of that has made the team better...thanks

Just left the finland game. They are so good top to bottom. Standout players for me were jokiharju, heponiemi, and kakko. Utunen was given tough assignments and got all neutral and defensive starts only. He reminds me of duncan keith when he plays, but way less offensive. He definitely doesnt stand out compared to the rest, but watched him close and he played great.

He’s not the right guy to do that, other than drafting Boeser and Pettersson nothing he’s done has helped the club be more competitive in almost five years.

None of those trades cost us either nor hurt us in any great way.

Why would he. You don’t generally fire someone if you’re satisfied with his job performance.

6 years with an opt out option after the 3rd year

From what I’ve heard, they’ve been talking to them over the past couple of months about it.

Yes it has, 4 of those guys are regulars! You’re not going to rip someone off and get a top 6 for nothing (sven deal is close to that)

You lose whatever credibility remains when you say things like this. Some of these moves (that were positive) have certainly made the team better. A playoff team? No. But these depth acquisitions certainly improve the overall quality of the roaster/ organizational depth
