Rhinofan, Gordong, yourself. Reinhart is a good player, but there is a reason why he got a bridge deal and not a long-term deal like almost every other forward in that draft class. Yes, he was a second overall pick and that label will always be on him. If Murray showed the same patience Botts did we don't trade for ROR and Kane and we probably have one of Matthew Tkachuk, Pierre Luc Dubois, Patrick Laine, or maybe even Auston Matthews to show for it. All of those guys I'd take over Reinhart as well. Maybe my hate should go towards Murray's handle of the tank and not Reinhart but when we simply throw a season away we better end up with a darn Malkin, Barkov, Laine, Seguin or another Eichel. Reinhart is a good player but we might use our next 4 first rounders and get similar talented players without having to tank.

I explained my reasoning for my hate in the second part of that post that you didn't quote in your response. At the end of the day he is a good player but isnt like the other guys I mentioned. Is it his fault ? No. But at the end of the day I wanted Reinhart to be the 2nd line C who also earned a 8 year 10M dollar deal. If he ended up as a winger I wanted Reinhart to be the Marner on our team. Good player, perhaps undeserving of the criticism, but I wish he was the guy that made Sheary and Okposo better then they are not the guy that played with Eichel and put's up the kind of numbers I wish he could put up on his own.

Yep.

Tampa did us a solid last night by coming back and beating Montreal in regulation. The Leafs did us no favours, however I enjoyed watching the Barzal show stick it down JT's throat.

We are praising Sam for the same things that we hate on moulson and okposo for: only can produce with a talented center and can’t carry a line.

I have no problem with Sam and he and jack have a lot of chemistry and sams cap hit is great.

I just think that if Sam could produce on the second line as center then we have a much much more balanced team and I think this year we have talent to put on his wings.

I want to see a repeat of the reinhart 2c experiment with sheary and mitts on his wings.

Sheary/call up reinhart Mitts

Thompson learns how to play with some time in space while eichel and skinner draw most of the attention

Reinhart has some skill on his wings

Mitts gets a little bit more space and hopefully builds confidence

This team desperately needs Sam to produce away from Jack. Until he does, he's going to take heat. It has nothing to do with where he was drafted and everything to do with how he looks when he's expected to carry a line vs. being the #3 guy.
