The problem with people on this board is that certain posters treat Reinhart like he’s Eichel, and certain posters treat Eichel like he’s a Reinhart. Yes does my hate for Reinhart go overboard, yea it does. I’m sick and tired of people blowing their wads over a 2nd overall pick who just might put together his first 60+ point season in his 4th year. Then we have posters that say we don’t need Seguin because he’s getting called out by the CEO of the team because he’s on pace for 66 points yet if Reinhart puts up 66 points they are going to have a parade downtown.

I explained my reasoning for my hate in the second part of that post that you didn't quote in your response. At the end of the day he is a good player but isnt like the other guys I mentioned. Is it his fault ? No. But at the end of the day I wanted Reinhart to be the 2nd line C who also earned a 8 year 10M dollar deal. If he ended up as a winger I wanted Reinhart to be the Marner on our team. Good player, perhaps undeserving of the criticism, but I wish he was the guy that made Sheary and Okposo better then they are not the guy that played with Eichel and put's up the kind of numbers I wish he could put up on his own.

Both were 2nd overall picks that we tanked for. One is a superstar who earned the contract, the other earned a bridge deal and might be the 5th best forward on our team after we factor in our next two draft classes and the progression of Mittelstadt.

Casey better substantially improve if he's going to produce like Sam, and I say that as a Casey fan but with the reality of what we've seen to date.

You've got hate for Sam, and it seems to be mostly due to what you 'expected' him to be versus the reality. At a certain point, seems like letting that go and accepting the reality is the way to go.

The Oilers trade away Chris Wideman, who is an average 5v5 defender with some power-play upside, to obtain instead Alex Petrovic, who is clearly below average. They paid a third round pick for the privilege of downgrading their defence corps in this manner.
