I like Thompson. Yea he hasn’t shown up on the score sheet but I don’t know many bottom 6 players on respective NHL rosters that have the hands and shot that he possesses. I think he can be a good player for us in the coming years. He was a late first rounder that really shouldn’t even have seen the NHL before this season. He played well enough to get an extended look with the Blues last season although he played around 8-10 minutes a night in their bottom 6 with few looks with their top guys. - Pegullaville
It's maybe because he fed Sobotka instead of someone with actual talent.
He was our best forward last night, playing with scrubs |

No, he isn't.
He's a good guy for your top-6 and has almost no value in a trade. - BeadyEyedDouche
If Mike Weber is worth a 3rd and Larsson is worth Hall, McCabe is easily worth Coyle. I would see a McCabe Coyle 1 for 1 as a big loss for the Sabres. A young, bonafide, everyday NHL defenseman has more value than you think. |

Can we trade for ROR from the Blues ? I hear he's good at face off's and plays center. - SABRES 89
Hahaha
I heard he’s “EASILY REPLACABLE”
Why would we even want him back when we have Sobotka & Berglund?
Oh, wait..... |

I just don't see it Homie, not from what I've seen from him (just the IIHF games) what happened to Borgen? though he was pretty damn solid for us in the preseason. I'd be SHOCKED to see samualsson make that jump. - gordong
Borgan is Rd
If dahlin stays on the left expect borgen for bottom pair on right in fall

Ah, gotcha, off-season.
Would make a lot of sense for both teams to know where they stand after the year is done. Draft-day deal for a player the Hawks are high on (depending on where we finish and where that second 1st ends up being)??? |

Nope, we have ammo and other teams know it. - SABRES 89
Apart from the contenders (TOR, TBL, WPG, NSH) I think we are in a fantastic position as an organization right now. If our amateur scouting staff can hit on the picks and develop the guys already in the system we are set up really well. |

Actually pilut was a Murray guy
Kept his word and signed with Botts
Botts likes him a lot
Ship sailed on guhle
There is a reason why Botts loaded up on ld
My guess is dahlin is moving to the right full time next year
Pilut is puck mover on 3rd pair
Rookie will be stay at home d man for second pair - homiedclown
Could be
I just don’t think NEXT year for Samuelsson
I’d be very, very surprised |

The best thing that could happen for this team is finishing in the bottom 10. - Pegullaville

Ever since you have been saying this, we keep losing.
😐
I was driving the tank for the past 7 years.
Finally , we need to win in my opinion.
Playoffs and experience will help this team more then drafting 10 instead of 17th.
What's the cost of moving from (18 to 10) maybe a 2nd?
Experience and the confidence of winning is worth more then a second round pick.
Also , free agents can take us seriously as a contender.
Why is the Sabres 7 year absence from the playoffs not consider a draught? When does a draught begin? 10 years? |

This team's history in the draft does not have me confident they will hit on more than 1 of them.
We should absolutely trade one of those 1sts away for a player under RFA age if the deal is right |

Teams are calling and offering players for picks, that's both hilarious and weird, IMO.
Who the (frank) calls and says "Hey I'll take those 1st round picks off your hands" seriously, it's supposed to be the other way around...

First he has to sign
Then have a strong training camp like pilut had
And dahlin has to move to the right
Lots of moving parts

after watching him in the IIHF games, he is not making that jump no way.... He needs to work on his speed. He's big and strong enough, and he's played okay. but the NHL is a away different level. - gordong
I don’t even think it’s a sure thing that we sign him this year
Botts could definitely let him develop another year in college
We’ve still got a lot of LH defensemen,
even if we trade a couple |

Games like last night are a perfect example of why we need more high end players. You get those at the top of the draft and we aren’t getting a Tavares gift wrapped to us in FA. 5 years from now we won’t remember a one and done playoff series, but we will have a player that could help us be in the cup discussion year after year. ESPN’s player poll this offseason had quotes of players thinking that we could be the best team in the NHL 5 years from now and had us as the surprise playoff team. Even if we flounder this year I’m sure players know what we have brewing here.
