They better hope they win or Torts will be the walking dead by Thanksgiving. - dragonoffrost
I honestly think they try to add. I think rangers make a logical fit with maybe a guy like zucc. |

This statement seems to contradict itself. - jmatchett383
I see nothing wrong with it
But in reality it took the best goalscorer of this era how long to win one? |

I'm just saying they better win the cup or Torts is gone by Thanksgiving if not after they get bounced. |

I think they are the 2nd best team in the east. More complete than Toronto or caps. Just my opinion though. |

Perfect....move Jake back to Columbus. Depth is key come playoff time.
And I’m dead serious. Move Jake to where it all started for him. He’ll never win the Cup with the Flyers. |

Stones statement today sounds like hes re signing.
Columbus is going for the cup they wont trade Bob or panarin. - Tfaehner
Voracek and Panarin both put up around 80 points a season. If I told you as a GM that you could have a player that will put up similar amount of points and is signed for 7 years or you could have a younger guy that scores more goals but will lose them after this season, which one would you do?

They have 6 million in cap space but a lot of holes to fill this off season. I dont see it without us giving up significant assets or taking bad contracts back. |

Wait until the all star break when the player said he will inform the organization of his intentions. If I cant sign him I trade him for the highest bidder for young elc players and first round picks. |

I'm open to moving "core" guys if they haven't moved the needle in 4 seasons. G is a top point producer and our captain so, obviously, a little harder to digest. G has a no movement clause or no trade clause so it is just a dream.
We don't know what happens behind closed doors but I have questioned the leadership group these past few years. I believe Lavy or Hitch used to talk about the leaders in the room as the ones responsible for holding each other accountable. I remember a story about Pronger taking a young G to a private area and yelling at him over a stupid turnover before the media came in. I may be wrong but I don't feel that these guys are accountable to each other. It's always, we're frustrated, we have to move on. We'll be better next time. Different GM, different coach, still same core. Still same issues. - cdearth23

Not understanding (could be due to leftover New Year’s hangover - lol)...
We’re trading Jake, which is a significant asset and $$ in and of itself. A pair of draft picks in return in lieu of bad/expiring contracts would be the way to go, IMO. |

It started when Sid kept saying I can't go because of lame excuse injury that really was a hope to get out of going so the league said you miss a game before or after the ASG if you don't go.
Now Ovi gets to choose to miss a road game against Toronto or a home game against Calgary. I'd choose Toronto if I was him and not travel with the team. - dragonoffrost

I don't think Voracek for either Stone or Panarin would happen. - MJL
Maybe stone with a little more, no way Panarin, he is like G in a way where he fits with who we he plays with and makes them better. Jake doesn’t really do that |

We have made the assumption that both panarin and stone wont re-sign with their current teams. They both may still. And if I'm columbus if I cant get a deal done I'd rather have young controllable players and picks than an underperforming over paid forward. Take the young players picks. Re sign Bob. Go after it again. |

Any deal for Bob or Panarin the picks sent will be conditional on him resigning there. You will need to be very careful in that minefield. |

I think panarin is thst good that a team woll take a chance regardless. They could get a tk like player plus a first from a team out there I guarantee it. Why would you take Jake over that? |

If they're going for the Cup this season, yes I'd take Jake. If they're looking to retool, then I'd do TK + a pick. |
