Let's be honest, if the Flyers can trade Simmonds it is not going to be for much. If they can get a 2nd or better for him then break out the champagne. Better yet have a 2 for 1 sale and include JvR for a wet sock. They can deal with Puck Pushers, Inc.

Part of me thinks we all are underestimating the return on Simmonds a little. Yes he’s having a bad year, but a lot of that can be linked with our god awful power play which is his bread and butter. On top of this, the Flyers have an extra 3rd; if needed we can add this 3rd along with Simmonds to get a 1st maybe or a better prospect.

I am all for getting value for Simmonds, but it really depends on other teams and whether they will pay for an UFA or have an extension worked out. Years ago Simmonds would be worth a lot, but today the whole "big body net presence" doesn't matter any more. It's not about who is stronger or bigger in front, it's about who is the quickest or hardest worker to get to the puck, Simmonds and JvR are neither. One of the reasons why the PP is struggling is because Simmonds is not able to bury his chances, he should have 12-15 PPG by now with all the chances he has been fed.

Part of it has to be mental between the teams rough season and him probably full knowing his days in philly are numbered. but I’m fully on board with sending Simmonds + a pick and/or prospect to sweeten any deal whether it’s just draft picks coming back or a young player who can play with us now. It’s really a shame he’s having a poor season following his injury filled season

My issue is simmer is a guy who never had an issue with compete level. Every single day he gave it his all. This year it's not there. He isnt as physical. He isnt skating back. Hes not as vocal on the ice. That worries me. Is he still injured ? Is he regressing ? Does he know we wont offer him a deal and is coasting until he gets traded ?

I tend to agree with you on Simmonds value. But last year Detroit got a 1,2 & 3 for Tatar who was 2years younger but has no where near the production of Simmonds. It makes you wonder. Tatar was also signed and not UFA. But conditional picks could be made part of the deal.

I’ve wondered this a lot this season too because there’s been times where he’s just coasting and looks like he doesn’t give a (frank). The last game I went to (Detroit game) there was a puck in the corner that looked like he could have gotten to if he hustled or if couldn’t get there first he would have least thrown a check at the player. He did neither and I thought to myself man the Simmonds I know would have made that loose puck difficult for the Red Wing. It could be physical issues as we saw G and Ghost take some time to fully recover but the times where there’s no hustle it really makes you wonder if he physically can’t hustle or he’s checked out. It’s safe to say this hasn’t been a fun season for the players.
