Even if Ghost goes the other way? I know they are high on Chabot but you get G coming home, Ghost and a goalie for two guys you might lose in the off-season anyway...

Like I said, probably a poor example but I think we need something drastic. It's been more of the same every year. Got rid of coach and GM and nothing changes. It's time to focus on the leaders in the room.

So are we now at the "blow up the entire team and bring in all new players" mindset?

lol - but they did try the 1-2-2 a few times in the last few games.

Flyers have played a 1-2-2 forecheck for most of the season. There is a difference between that and 1-2-2 trap.

Yes - I meant the 1-2-2 trap (as I was responding to a post that referenced the Devils)

I knew that, I was just making conversation. Speaking of situational play on set breakouts, the 1-2-2 against the Panthers was a bute! If there is nobody in front of you, where might they be?

At some point, when you're where they are, "some bad games" is just not good enough

They need someone to come in there and make all the saves that should be made at the NHL level. I'm not saying the guy has to stand on his head every night or be Carey Price in his prime, Roy in his prime, Brodeur in his prime

They just can't give up goals that other playoff-caliber teams find ways to minimize. They have to get a guy in there who at least gives them that

The PP is ass. The PK runs hot and cold way too much. They don't play hard enough, to me

But none of that matters if they don't get the saves that half of the league gets consistently

Brian Elliot is 18th in the NHL for Even Strength save percentage this year of any goalie who has played at .931 and a G.AA of 1.98. His injury is definitely having a huge impact on the team.

Carter Hart had 1 bad game in 5. Guess what that's how a rookie will play. As I said the other four that were here aren't NHL quality full time or are Glass Joe who has all of 6 games... Which I believe 2 are relief appearances.

After losing EK I don’t think Sens would want to lose another home grown d man, especially with the impact he’s had on them. I can’t speak on Chabot’s defensive play since I don’t catch many Sens games, but he’s having a far superior season than Ghost on a team that everyone thought would be the worst team in the league and he’s turning 22 end of this month. It just doesn’t make sense (imo) to move a young dman for two older guys when they are still not ready to compete for playoffs. I think they could move Stone and Duchene for better deals separatly (if they don’t resign either) to keep building a team that fits the age / timeline of Chabot and their other prospects.

I said it last night and I'll say it again. Outside of G, TK and Laughton I don't like any of our wingers. Add in no 3C and asking a 20 year old to step into a 2C role on a poopty defensive squad and it's no wonder why we are where we are.

These prospects had better pan out because Hextall is looking (frank)ing terrible right now.

The "Core" needs a reboot. If the Rangers can trade McDonagh, Stepan, Nash, and Miller and come out the other side then the Flyers can do the same thing. Do we need to move everyone? No. Giroux has a NTC, forget him. Simmonds has an expiring contract... obvious choice there. JVR has a contract that people arent going to be excited about with his numbers... Voracek earns his paycheck. Ghost is young, signed to an amazing deal, and part of a position of strength.... The haul you can get for Ghost would be... amazing.

Trade Voracek for an expiring contract player that your sure you can resign.. panarin, stone, or duchene.

Trade Simmonds for as many picks as you can.

Strip a team of their entire farm for Ghost. (Tampa would likely give you a huge player for a defenseman signed at Ghosts contract)

Just picture for second....maybe two......how brutal this team would look without Giroux...I think it would make me physically ill to watch.
- landros 2

Not sure that's true. Guys would be forced to step up and play. They would become better players in that vacuum...

I think it's the players who are looking terrible not Hextall.

Both in all honesty. We have what we have on the ice in large part due to Hextall.

If we actually consider moving JVR, I don’t think he’ll be as difficult to move as some are making it out to be. He is a proven NHL scorer who has also proven to score a ton of goals in limited ice time. I think any GM/team can recognize our team this year is all over the place. A down year from JVR will hurt his value but won’t make him completely untradable. Especially when any team can expose him in the Seattle expansion draft.

His cap hit really isn't all that bad. Could definitely see Seattle taking him too.

Tatar for Montreal had a quote that i read which is something this team lacks some games. You have to believe, you cant give up when going down in a game. We have seen instances of this in our meetings with Tampa. Todays nhl is a lot different. You cant sit back and protect a lead. TSN has an article about how 3rd period comebacks are on the rise.

For this team, it really feels like anything that can go wrong does go wrong

In reality it's both.
Hexy created this BS mix of players and the players are not performing.

Awaits the people saying but who's going to want a guy who doesn't score 20 goals at that price...

I’m sure they’ll also cling to the lockout season or seasons where he suffered injuries when he didn’t have 20 lol. But I can see him hitting 20 for us this year still. But honestly, JVR is far from my concerns with this team.

List the players on the roster. Than which ones hextall specifically acquired. Than tell me which ones you take issue with.

There was a guy somewhere else I saw was shooting off about him not scoring 20 goals and I put up he had 6 in 20 games. He went silent.
