Did anyone else catch Quinns comments in Brooks piece the other day? Talking about how they will "have to see whos left on the roster" when talking about bringing Lias back up. The comments certainly made it seem like the purge will happen

I can't believe people dont think another purge will happen

For the players who could be traded, hayes is really the only one with great value right now. Unless some of these players build back up their value before the deadline idk what the Rangers expect to get back for some of these players in trades.

I wonder if it starts slow with a trade here and there or he waits the 2 months.. still plenty of teams in the playoff hunt right now that wont be trade partners if they wait till the deadline

Last trading deadline, Rangers moved 5 NHL players ( McDonagh, Miller, Nash, Grabner, Holden ) and 1 AHL player ( Graves ).

I think we will see some trades ( Zuke, McQuaid, maybe another D-man ). Not sure if that will count as a purge. I think Hayes and Kreider both stay unless Gorton gets blown away with an offer he can't refuse...

I wonder if Kravtsov playing center in WJC makes Rangers re-think his future with team.
If he joins team in February at conclusion of KHL season, that will count (to me anyway)
as a major acquisition. He can play in AHL for a bit and then last 10 games of season with Rangers without activating his first year. Going to be a fun ride for next seven weeks.......

Hayes gets you a 1st, prospect and another lower pick/prospect

Zucc for 2nd

McQuaid for a 4th.

Claesson for a 6th.

Make it happen Gorton.

He's very good in the middle. I was surprised. From what people have reported he has only played the wing with Traktor.

I don't want Kravtsov joining the team this year. I don't want him to burn a year on his ELC.

It's not for lack of effort though, great on faceoffs too. I agree however, might be beneficial to take a step back and watch.

I think he will just have a breakthrough game whether he sits or not. He is getting to the right places. Just can't make it happen.

Chytil and Claesson are back in the #NYR lineup tonight replacing Vesey and DeAngelo.

Henrik in 🥅

Quinn wasn’t happy with how they played Monday. Plan was originally to sit Chytil, decided to change that up. Unsure what ADA did wrong, thought he played an effective, agitating game Monday.

I really want to see him play but burning that year is just foolish. It is a waste. Plus they would have to waste a protection slot on him for the next expansion.

I am however not rooting for the tank. Yeah, it would be nice to have a lottery pick but come on, with Hank they are not a lottery team. Just not gonna happen.

I see what you are saying, but in reality, everyone that doesn't make the playoffs is a lottery team, insofar as every non-playoff team has a chance to win either the 1st, 2nd or 3rd overall pick.

I think the Rangers position is interesting. They are a modest winning streak away from being in the playoff hunt, and a modest losing streak away from being a bottom 5 team.

With 5 of their next 7 on the road, the losing streak might present itself...but I didn't expect 4 points out of Nashville and St Louis so who knows.
