I don't think it's crazy, but depends how they invest. We had one of the worst offenses in the league this year. If they can sure up the line, get Allen a couple quality targets and Allen improves in his 2nd year...we could be good.

I can get behind that.

It was obvious Beane et al wanted to clear cap this year and then get the pieces for Allen this offseason. I just hope they stick to it. I always worry with defensively minded coaches like McDermott that they see that pricey LB and spend big because it helps their scheme. We need WR and OL.

I mean the Bears were a 5-11 team last year, now 12-4 and a SB contender. These huge swings happen all the time. With the amount of cap we have, 10 picks and the resemblance of a QB, there is hope IMO.

I am not so sure about what you are saying. Last off season, Bean had to make tight money decisions as we did not have much cap space.

AJ McCarron - got him for fairly cheap and then traded for a 5th rounder (knowing he was going to draft a QB)

Star L - Has done an OK job plugging that hole so others can make a play. Could you have paid less for more of an unknown? Sure, but he knew Star and that he
would not be trouble and could be accountable.

Trent Murphy - Wanted more from him, but was just OK for this team

Chris Ivory - I think they wanted a change up back that was tough to tackle for 3rd and 2, to off set McCoy. He did ok here, hope Bean understands RB's can be undrafted and be as good.

Vontae Davis - Laughing aside, dude's career was over as seen in the preseason. He should have been cut then.

Kerley - Wanted him to stick, but he did not. Did he even play for any other team?

Levi Wallace - Did I just hear he was the best rookie CB this year? GREAT FIND!

I am sure there are others, but I did not think it was all that bad. This year he has cap room to really prove himself. I think last year we brought in John Brown and wanted to sign for 3 years $9m (or something) but he opted for Ravens instead. So I am sure there were other guys they wanted, but just did not sign here, for one reason or another.

Foster is going to be a good 2 with Jones in the slot

They need to get a true possession receiver

Wallace looks like a CB2 next to White

Hyde and Poyer lock down the safety position

Croom looks like he will be their guy next year

Lotulelei and Murphy need to step up big time next year

Philips looks like a solid mid season pick up if the keep him and he keeps a level head about him.

They need to fix the OL and get Allen a true #1 WR and I would still look to improve the TE position

Then some depth at the LB position

Big task on hand but with the cap space and draft capital its very doable

The thuggery from many (everyone owes me for the way I grew up attitudes) and the disrespect for the American flag was it for me.
I come from a highly involved military family.
That was it for me for the nfl.

The problem is our position needs are the hardest positions to acquire in FA. Good O-Line and WRs are not available in FA.
