Skinner-Rodrigues-Reinhart
Smith-Larsson-Okposo
Elie-Mittelstadt-Pominville
Sheary-Sobotka-Thompson

Pilut has played what 6 games? and people think he's ready to be top 6. Casey same thing, 10 games last year and he's ready for 2nd line center? please stop - SABRES 89
mitts hasn't been the best, but my god the wingers whom he has played with have sucked all season, see sheary, Okposo and any other mid-six forward that ended up on his wing...sure, there's a thing called chemistry of which he's a big part of, but one would think that vets like those two would help a 19 yr. old transition to an important role and take some of the pressure off of him...they haven't and it hasn't helped anybody |

oh I agree, i was just throwing out a trade suggestion. it sux that ROR is a franking whiner. We prob would have 5 more wins under our belt if he was still on this team, however we prob don't have skinner either... - hehateme
it just wasn't a good fit |

People wanted ROR gone, couldn't wait for him to go, now we have no #2 center. People can't wait to trade 55 and or 19. Let's see how well that works out and enough with the crap that Pilut is ready for top 6 and how will we be better with 55 gone. How's that worked with ROR gone. big deal we get another pick, how many more years should we keep waiting. 37 has no business being 2nd line center. - SABRES 89
And boy, is that painfully obvious. Not sure how some are so certain he's going to be a stud either. Maybe, but I definitely wouldn't say it's a given. |

Patience is definitely difficult.
Half way thru the season.
Not only not eliminated from the playoffs by the end of October ,but in a playoff spot.
That has to exceed expectations to this point..... |

Kind of an aside, but based on minutes, he isn't our 2nd line center... |

it has for me. I thought at the beginning of the year that we would be fighting for the 7th or 8th playoff spot, but that damn 10 game win streak shot us up the standings. Now we are coming crashing back down to earth. its just painful to watch.... |

Why?
Jack being out, perfect opportunity to put him with Skinner and Rhino to see what he can actually do.
Has he looked good? No. Flashes only. But playing the entire year with Okposo hasn't helped. |

He doesn’t get PP time and plays the equivalent of 3rd line minutes with 4th line talent on the wings. Could he be a lot better ? Absolutely. However he will only succeed if he does everything himself. |

Isn't E-Rod taking that spot though? What does that tell us about the organizations view of Casey? |

No I was saying if he is not our 2nd line center then who the frank is? 71 or 22? YIKES!! And yes I thought the same thing this morning, if Jack is out I move 37 to the top line.. I would love to see what he does with good wingers.

That they are sheltering him and not expecting a 20 year old with 40 games experience to play 20+ minutes a night against other teams best competition ? Elias Pettersson is the exception to the rule at this point. |

Yes. And that they have the wrong idea. E-Rod should never be 1C. I'd rather see literally almost any other player there. The only reason for E-Rod to be up there is to spread the lines out when Jack is back. |

Sorry, I misunderstood. And yeah, E-Rod is our 1C. We're going to have a really bad time until Jack is back. |

Had high hopes or him but its looking like he going to turn into an average NHLer, not a building block.....
I was really hoping Botts would be the guy, but Im starting to having serious doubts.
Totally (frank)ed up handling of mitts, traded ROR and not a solid plan to replace him. drafting who knows..... Probably will be years before we have an answer to that.
You would think just the law of averages would let us find a difference maker somewhere in the draft besides Jack. maybe its me, but I just don't see a lot of help coming from Rochester in the next year... Guy's that where drafted high, and others that played in Europe just don't seem to be anything special. yet Teams like Toronto, Tampa find players all over the place.
I actually haven't been so down on our future in years.
OUR drafting HAS too GET better, MUCH.....MUCH better.

Sheltering? If its one game and your star center is hurt, you would think your young "2c" would step in to see what he is capable of with actual top 6 wingers.... |

They had him trying to play Eichel's role on the half wall on the PP and I threw up a little in my mouth...just a wittle, but still.
You know I like E-Rod, but honestly, if they think he is the better fit than Mitts for that line, I'm afraid that all we can hope for is that Jack comes back pronto. |

No one is going the replace Jack, but stylistically (speed, pass first) Erod is the closest. He's going to pleasantly surprise those who haven't already decided he sucks imo |

Did anyone see that now Chicago put Jason Garrison on waivers (for the second time) to terminate his contract, like 3 days after trading for him?
Whats to keep other teams from doing this? Trade for a guy and then put on waivers to terminate contract, like is this mutual at all?
I think the Sabres one was different cause that was months ago we traded for him and he tried playing here and did not like it.
Is this a new way for a player to get a "fresh" start (and lose some money) by being traded and then terminate contract and then sign with whomever? |
