So Casey has 16 points in 46 career NHL games. Not pretty to say the least. If he isn’t a 45 point player next year I’d be worried. Until then though I’m not gonna worry about a kid that would be owning the WJC tournament right now if he stayed in College. Botts rushed the development, but at the end of the day he’s still learning and developing nonetheless. - Pegullaville
I think he will be fine
this team took a step ahead of the curve when skinner fell into our lap on the cheap
this team really should be hanging with the leafs and bruins next season, instead of right now

luke had 20 points in 52 games on his first "full" season
casey has 11 points in 40 games - homiedclown
I believe that was playing top line...and he was 2 years older, correct?
What does Mitts score if his rookie season is 2 years from now, now give him Vanek instead of Okposo...thoughts? |

I'm not going to disagree RF.
I hope that he continues an upward trajectory. - Over50
He's inconsistent, that's for sure...but me too. I see the fixings there to make a good dish. |

if nylander was producing half of what keller is right now, it's an easier pill to swallow - homiedclown
Yea that was a blown opportunity. Nylander still has time though to make something of himself. |

Just because the season has gone better than people expected to begin with, doesn't mean that Botterill needs to panic now that they've struggled for a bit to try and speed things back up.
The goal this year was to push for a playoff spot. They're still firmly in that area. I find it hard to believe that the secondary scoring won't ever heat up at times during the rest of the year.
That's basically the difference between the winning streak and now. They were getting secondary scoring in addition to the 1st line being hot.
Missing Eichel for any length of time will be a tough pill to swallow though. They may not be able to overcome that at all. Because that first line goes as Eichel goes. - HonkFortheGoose

During the 10 game streak, there were 7 different game winning goal scorers. I don't care where the secondary scoring is coming from. Whether its the 2nd-4th lines or the defense. If it's not your top line, it's secondary scoring. |

Not letting you off that easy lol.
If Mittelstadt was given almost 2 more years to develop and was given Vanek instead of Okposo...his stats wouldn't be so middling would they?
Just making the point that Luke Adam and Casey Mittelstadt don't really have anything in common at all. |

Most sacks charged directly to QBs this season (as opposed to blockers):
Dak Prescott 15
Deshaun Watson 14
Russell Wilson 13
Patrick Mahomes 10
Mitchell Trubisky 9
Jared Goff 8
Lamar Jackson 8
Josh Rosen 7
Hmm no sign of Allen - Stripes77

I actually just did a little more digging.
During the month of November, we scored 49 goals in 14 games. 18 of which were accounted for by Eichel, Skinner and Reinhart.
During the month of December, we scored 29 goals in 12 games. 18 of which were accounted for by Eichel, Skinner and Reinhart.
Yup, the 1st line has continued to produce where the rest of the team has not.

Thomas, Chytil, and Rasmussen are the only guys selected after Casey that have played any meaningful NHL minutes this year. Pettersson easily would go 1st overall in a redraft and is a special player. Patrick has been meh at best. Hischier has been good but not 1st overall good. Heiskanen is pretty solid. Thomas has 12 points in 32 games this year and Chytil has 13 points in 37 games. As fans of the NHL we've been spoiled by a few years of elite players lighting it up coming into the league but we need to temper our expectations. Mitts played one year of college hockey and we expect him to light up the NHL in 40 games playing with absolutely nobody who has been at the very least average in terms of NHL production. |

Similar to Thompson, lethal shot but can he put together at the NHL level. |
