He cleared waivers and is rockford bound.
Garrison is not reporting to the AHL and is considering some options overseas (according to Elliotte Friedman). - Justin Lowe
Yeah I saw that he cleared but haven’t seen that he’s been assigned to Rockford yet. Blackhawks might wait until Jokiharju is back before assigning him to Rockford. |

For Garrison, that means his contract is terminated? |

Who goes tonight? Ward or Delia?
I'm taking bets. - Justin Lowe
Better be Delia!! Enough with the do the right thing for the vet. Needs to be Delia's net to lose from here on out. For crying out loud Crawford may never play another NHL game. Time to plan for that possibility and seeing what Delia can do as a #1 at the NHL level is a part of that.

My bet is Ward.
If Delia gets the start it only, IMO, re-enforces the idea that Ward only got the start for the Classic for two reasons;
One, veteran status as a guy who's been in the league for years and played in big games before
Two, fear of killing Delia's confidence on a big stage and stunting his development
JC would be smart to give Ward the start and then let Delia get in after tonights game - Savetheembers33
Looks like Delia. |

Ohh man this is a dream scenario if mine for the Hawks for all three of those kids to pan out and be on a line together for this team. poop depending on how things pan out its possible that could even be our fourth line in a few years
This is why when a few of is had the debate a few weeks back, if you get the #1 pick and Vancouver calls and offers Pettersson for it so they can have the Hughes brothers you take it and RUN. As good as Hughes projects to be, we KNOW what Pettersson can do and could jump in your top 6 next year at an elite level. Not saying that it could or will happen but this was my argument as to why if it did it would be well worth it to do - Savetheembers33
I hear this quite a bit about putting the brother together. Is this because Vancouver did the same thing with the Sedins? I'm not sure why they would send Pettersson out to get Hughes (from a team standpoint). You've already got a guy who is proving that he can do it in the NHL. While Hughes projects well, there is no guarantee that he will be able to do it in the bigs. I think if you are even a mildly competent GM, Pettersson is off the table.

As far as the Cubs network - the Dodgers have their own network in Southern California - but some sizable percentage of the cable operators haven't picked it up
- meaning some sizable percentage of LA baseball fans can't watch the Dodgers. - StLBravesFan
TW cable which paid for the rights ($8 billion for 25 years) covers just 30% of the Dodger home area. In order to cover the rest of the area and make a profit , they needed to resell rights to the other cable providers in the area. The asking price was so high that, the outlets said no thanks. DirecTV did offer to carry the games as a paid premium channel. TW said no. Thus 70% of the Dodger home area can’t watch the team play, but can watch the Angels

Will be tough one for the Hawks tonight. Been to a few games to watch the Isles at the coliseum. They definitely feed off the fans a lot, place is always rocking.
Let's get the W tonight boys!! |

I'm generally in your boat. The only thing I would caution is that it looks like the most games he's played in a season is 38 (last year between ECHL and AHL). I just don't want a "drinking from the firehose" situation.
That said, he looks really composed when he is out there, so as long as he shows that he can take it let him run. |

Delia would be the prudent choice, so I'll go with Ward.
I read that Lehner is the likely starter for the Islanders. EnzoD gets to see his hopeful Hawks free agent additions Anders Lee, and Brock Nelson tonight. Their numbers look good, I just never paid much attention to the Islanders, so I know nothing about them.

Looks like Collin Delia gets the start tonight. - Chunk
Focus on Lee. Big body that plants in front of the net, has great instincts there and the hands/feet to finish. Most of his goals are from 2-3 feet out.

No update on Drake Caggiula. Holiday season might be slowing the Visa process down."We'll get him when we get him," Colliton said.
Hayden in for Martinsen. Delia in net.

Sorry for all the Dan Roan fans but starting next season there will be no more Blackhawks games on WGN. NBC Sports Chicago will carry all games. - AEL_Fox
Awesome, can we work next on getting rid of Konroyd and also start thinking about finding Foley's replacement also. |

I know, that's why "haha" was there. I just found it funny for 2 great song writers to have a rough start, then do Satisfaction to top the charts for a long time, and still play the crap out of it today. I love the stones, but Sticky Fingers, that's the greatest, for me. - I Am The Breadman

Hahaha I am more than prepared! Good thing is Isles fans are always pretty good with the chirping, but with how they are playing this year I might be in some trouble.
Never helps going with 3 other Isles fans as well lol. |

So when Jokiharju gets back to don't have to send anyone down, correct? They will have 7 D-men on the roster. So some rotation of Forsling, and Gustafsson (or Seabrook) sitting out? - Chunk
Chunky, Gus has 10 points on 3 goals, 4 PP points on 2 PP goals, 19 blocks, 6 hits in his last 10 games. Played 25+ and 24+ mins his last 2 and 4+, 5+, 4+, 3+ and 4+ PP minutes his last 5 games.
Going forward Gus haters will have a lot of minutes to critique.

Good point but seeing if he can handle an NHL starters role is/should be part of the evaluation process. Give the kid the net but monitor him.

That sounds correct. It would be nice to do a rotation of Forsling and Seabrook. Keith, Jokiharju, Murphy, Dahlstrom, and Gustafsson deserve to play because they each serve key purposes despite some weaknesses. |

I hear this quite a bit about putting the brother together. Is this because Vancouver did the same thing with the Sedins? I could be wrong but hasn't Jack Hughes also been injured a few times already including recently during the WJC? If so, wonder if injury concern hurts his stock any.
Pettersson isn't exactly a huge kid either and did get injured earlier this season but that injury was due to a d-bag stunt by a Panthers player trying to pull an MMA move during a hockey game.
That said, Pettersson is a known quantity thus far. I guess he could be lights out now then go on to a sophomore slump and play mediocre the rest of his career but highly doubt that. He seems like the real deal who will only get better which is scary to think about given how great he is today. |

With Keith, Murphy, Dahlstrom, Gus and Joki back and the 6th Dman being a rotation this thing is starting to resemble an NHL defense. Not in the top 1/2 but resembling a competent defense.
Add a forward group fighting for minutes that will backcheck and the continued solid play of Delia and play in their own end may be the best in a few yrs.
I would rather see Forsling get #1 minutes on the farm than rotate though.

For Garrison, that means his contract is terminated? - I Am The Breadman
IIRC a few posts from yesterday discussing the difference between conditional and unconditional waivers. Davidson was placed on the former so if he clears he goes to Rockford. Garrison was placed on the latter which means he is free to find employment elsewhere but I believe the Hawks are on the hook for all or part of his remaining salary for the season.
Something like that. Anyone, please correct me wherever I am inaccurate. |

I think you are spot on. This kid is a runaway lock for the Calder and proving to be an outstanding player. Hughes might be good, but he is still an unknown and I don't think there is that much draw to put brothers together. The Sedins were a unique situation with identical twins who seemed to be made to play together. |
