It's not just the Hawks. It's true of all teams. There are some exceptions a team will have a great draft year like the year when Montreal drafted Pacioretty, Subban and Ryan McDonough in the same draft year. Those are rare though.

Tails on my question to Justin’s mail box asking if fans / pundits in other NHL cities are as high on their team’s prospects are we are on ours.

Agree 100%. How many "prospects" have teams like the Maple Leafs alone ruined by force feeding kids into their lineup before their daddies showed them how to shave. (Gary Nylund, Jim Benning, Luke Schenn just to name a very few).

The salary cap has changed many things, a lot of them not for the better. Selecting a kid at 18 doesn't mean he is ready to play at 20 or even 22 in the NHL. Unfortunately most NHL teams can't wait much longer than that and the greedy agents are even less patient because they have promised the kid and the parents stardom and wealth.

Give me an old grey beard like Ron Hainsey for a year or 2 instead or rushing kids like Bovqist or Mitchell before they are physically ready or prepared mentally for the NHL grind.

- RickJ

I was thinking that the other day when Keith was all but being shipped to Toronto. I fhe does go there I think Hainsey should be part of the package.

I guess you're excluding: Eddie Olczyk? John Weideman? Troy Murphy? Jamal Mayers? Adam Burish? I think all five of these guys are knowledgeable and excellent. Too bad the same can't be said for Foley and Konroyd.
- BMWChiFan

Foley was great when they didn't split the broadcast and he was paired with Tallon. They were great together. Foley was forced to actually call the game because he was also doing the radio broadcast instead of force feeding his open mic night routine to the viewing audience like he does now.

What does Sikura bring to this team, right now?
No doubt, he has offensive skill. But that offensive skill is wasted on the 4th line. And playing so few minutes.
He needs to play with more skilled players or should go back to Rockford.

The boys not winning many puck battles or playing with enough energy. Need a shot in the arm here to get going.

Seabrook at the back end of that PP was embarassing. 3 attempted entries, 3 attempted dump ins, 3 failed retreivals without a Hawk in sight, 3 clears under almost no pressure.

It. Doesn't. Work.

Please. Never again

Everything, but Delia.

There's something in the way he moves. He plays the puck like no other tender.

Perlini, Kruger, Hayden with the games best shift there.

Otherwise, a junk period other than our goalie.

And WHAT THE FOOK were the refs watching when Kruger got run over from behind by Boychuck? Idiots.

Perlini is really starting to get comfortable the last two games. I hope he can consistently provide this

If Kruger just lays on the ice and plays dead, he might get a call there.
