You named bands from Sweden, am I missing something?

Didn't know that about the money, holy hell! Hahaha!

- I Am The Breadman

Hey Bread no, i was responding to you based on what the other dude said. All good, you got it straight.

Yep, ONE BILLION. I think the band Oasis was offered some ridiculous amount by some rich guy in Ireland to reform, but that's about as unlikely as Abba reforming.

(frank)ing At the Gates is awesome, the guitar solo in the song "Cold" is GENIUS poop, played by former King Diamond guitar player Andy Laroque, that cat is freaking sick, one of the most under-rated players ever. Swedes can play their instruments really well generally and I ADORE what was called the "Gothenburg death metal sound".

LONG time lurker, decided this year to start posting, especially after reading Justin's posts Used to post on one of the other boards that banned comments because of how toxic the board had become, which emanated from the bloggers themselves. I myself was told I had dementia by one of the bloggers because he didn't like that I commented that the Hawks at the time should trade Sharp (the bloggers favorite) instead of Crawford.

A little about me, played the game through college and beer leagues. Family/I had season tickets from the time I was born until I was transferred to Los Angeles in 1983.Still am a rabid fan and follow and watch all the games I can.

I am not an advanced stats kind of guy (being old), but more go by the eye test.

That said, if you want to see a tire fire of a franchise, just look at the LA Kings. They had 8 shots on goal against the VGK in the first 2 periods and were outshot by 30 for the game. Campbell literally stood on his head. Both LA and the Hawks have obviously fallen from being an elite hockey team, but all the Bowman detractors (I am meh on him, don't think he is the best, far from the worst), I think Mr. Riccochet said it best, he did no harm. Think if Bowman would of signed Kovalchuk to the contract Blake/Robitaille did over the summer, 35 yo $6.3 annual for 3 years NMC. Kings also have Phaneuf, Brown, Kopitar (all with no trade/movement clauses, Carter, Martinez all on the wrong side of 30, and have no cap space. So the Hawks slide is not alone, it's the hard cap system.

I would like to see a cap that is somewhat similar to the NBA, where you are not so penalized for success (veteran exemptions, home town player exemptions, etc.).

I would keep Keith unless the offer blows Stan away. I agree, Anisimov, Kruger, et. all should be shipped out for whatever, but I believe if you hold on to AA until the deadline, you might be able to eek out a 1st.

Hope this post isn't too boring, if so, I will go back to my lurker status.

Ohhhh, hahaha, okay.

Oasis is decent. One of those guys is supposed to be a super-bumhole. Can't remember which guy.

I will have to give those songs a listen.

LOL, both Oasis brothers are total Richards. But Noel (guitar player, song writer) wrote some outstanding songs. I have all their records and if they reformed and played I'd go see it, for either a good show or to see Liam and Noel kill each other on stage.

They are actually a really good live band. Peep them on Youtube, the 96 gig in Manchester is really good, then the Familiar to Millions live CD is pretty good too.

Holy poop, I can't believe but I forgot one of the best bands in Sweden, (frank)ing Refused.

A punk band, their "The Shape of Punk to Come" is ground breaking stuff, one of the most innovative punk records I've ever heard.

Finland actually played a great game. They had a big edge in shots, but what a finish. I don't mind Finland doing well.
- breadbag

BB, Canada outshot em 34-24. Watched the first 2 periods and switched the USA game after that.

Hell yea I root for them, Sveden, Denmark and Switzerland too. ... They're underdogs just cuz of their populations, CZE too.

Finland is an awesome country. What makes them awesome is they don't go around spouting they are awesome all the time. Good for the Fins to get one done. They also have some good music that comes from there, though Sweden (At the Gates, Opeth) and Germany (Kreator, Helloween, Scorpions, Blind Guardian) probably have them beat.

AHHH - that explains it. Why I had the question mark as I hadn't seen anyone officially report why, but some claiming he'd been scratched.

Good news.

Problem is that they have to trade him while he has value. As a 22 year old he still has value as a prospect. Cannot wait forever and then dump him for nothing...ie Kyle Beach.
- KMFDMLight

I'm willing to bet Forsling won't be a Kyle Beah..... But yes, if the compensation is solid move him, move anyone. My point is the kid has the skills/size to develop into a 2nd pairing, maybe a 1st unit PP QB. I'm willing to hold those cards too long as opposed to to early.

I am not too disappointed in that result as our 2 guys were not getting the prime ice time for Canada whereas Jokiharju was the Finn's go to guy through the overtime. Therefore I am glad that the Finns move on over Canada.

Wow. Canada and Sweden out of the WJHC.

Shockers. Glad I got to see a game but very disappointing for my Canadians.

Good luck to USA. Up 2-0 with 10 left in the 3rd, they are in good shape.

Know what I finally looked at Joki's fancy numbers past Corsi. This kid was quietly excellent as a teenager this yr. Now I saw him play live twice at the WJC Summer Showcase two yrs ago in Plymouth, MI and he did not jump out at me. Dahlin did immediately but that doesn't take a scouts eye ........ Just another example to myself I need to defer to the professional scouts. https://www.naturalstattr...p2=8480035&p3=0&p4=0&p5=0

LOL at Kraftwerk, they are supposedly legendary, but I hate that kind of music, electronic is totally not my thing. The ONLY techno/new wavie keyboard overdosed band I liked was Depeche Mode. I liked them mainly because they were incredibly dark and haunting with how they did they craft, but generally I hate any music that does not include a guitar.

The Hives dissed the Beatles, no use for them. LOL Quincy Jones is another one who can (frank) off.

Believe they've both been interviewed by Stern on his show before. Liam was on last year and was a riot.

There was Oasis and Blur and the seldom mentioned Pulp was also noteworthy from early 90's Brit Pop stuff.

Oh god, was it Noel who wished Blur would get aids and die? Man, what a jackass.

I like a few Blur songs, I think Beetlebum (an under the radar song) is totally killer, but honestly Oasis is far better.

The "Behind the Music" on Oasis was a laugh riot. No doubt those dudes are entertaining, but goddamn someone needs to teach them some manners.

Eh, I don't know the Hives personally so I don't really care how they feel about the Beatles, religion, politics, etc.

Depeche Mode was a good 80's electronic band. New Order was pretty good too, particularly Power, Corruption and Lies.

It wasn't exactly a comment, there is a thing on Utube with other artists talking about the Beatles, the Hives said nothing specific but it was clear they didn't like them.

Hey, it's all good...not everyone likes the same poop, but that band saved rock n roll from a life of (frank)ing Paul Anka and Dion.
