I hope OV sits out the Toronto game for his suspension.

They should have a rule or allow the player to skip the ASG if the player has gone at least say 6 times to the all star games. You should be given the leeway to let someone else go.

What shocks me about OV skipping the All Star game is that he gets an automatic one game suspension. Really? The ASG is just a dumb marketing ploy that no one takes seriously. Why should he be penalized at all for not wanting to go to it for the 15th time or however many he's gone to? Let someone else go for once.

I feel so sorry for millionaire athletes having to take part in a game of shinny and some skills comps. I also feel especially sorry for them getting a 1 game suspension for deciding not to go.

He should have just faked an injury like everyone else that doesnt want to go. That way no suspension.

There's too many great players who don't get to go because of the stupid "1 player per team" rule. They should make it so the same player DOESN'T go 2 years in a row. Give the "stars" a break, and give some opportunities to see new ones

Also not very fair that it's right in the middle of their bye week. Guy basically has to waive his holiday, well deserved R&R, for something he doesn't want to do. If the asg didn't fall in that week then I would think he should go to the game.

If a player has a clause in contract that they get a bonus for making all-star team do they still get the $$$ if they don't go?

No one really cares about the All-Star game (except kids), and the novelty of the outdoor game has worn off... Just start a new, unique tradition and combine the two. An outdoor all-star game on January 1st may invigorate interest in both.

I'd like to see them mix it up. Not sure going outside would be the way to go. Personally, I want to see guys play with anyone, not sticking to divisions. Run the vote then shuffle the deck. You get what you get.
