Nucker is right . The Leafs would be picking around 153 rd with their 5 th round pick Canucks will be picking 156 th instead. Fuking Benning - VANTEL
I would say making a mountain out of a mole hill but the mole hill would be a gross exaggeration. Maybe a better analogy would be making mountains out of Keira Kniteley's t!ts.

What a travesty, this trade is, the Canucks bury Pyatt in minors and have 75k on the cap and lose a total of 1.725 million in capspace getting a goalie that is equivalent garbage as what they sent out, plus a 6th round pick gained...what a (frank)en idiot Benning is. - Reubenkincade
1) opens up a spot for Demko
2) Nilsson hasn't won a game in 9 starts
3) Archibald for Pyatt is a wash, they are both ufa's after the year is done
4) McKenna will go on waivers, picked up or not, it doesn't matter
5) all 4 players involved in the trade are UFA's, so no future cap implications
5) Archi was one of 5 or 6 centers in Utica. They were logjammed. This opens up a spot for a more regular rotation
6) a 6th round pick gained is better than a 6th round pick given away
7) Hard to call moving trash for trash and getting a late round pick a "travesty" lol. This is such a minor/insignificant bandaid move on both teams to free up room (canucks) and obtain a goalie while Andersson is concussed (Ottawa).
This is a small win IMO. But all in all, its not that significant. |

I know. Only a day ago we all thought nobody would take Nilly off the Canucks hands. Bravo Jim. Escapes another bad signing.

I once made the mistake of saying that I would like to see Subban get a legitimate shot at the NHL. That was three years ago and it’s still a thing on here. When Don first arrived he was positive about the Canucks direction and that started the whole circle jerk, pom pom, lemmings phenomenon.
I won’t even mention what happened to Dragon.
Just have to expect to get hazed at every opportunity. - bloatedmosquito

Archie isn't a center either. He plays winger in Utica. |

Now wondering if more trades or picks are coming. It does not look like the deepest of drafts. I suspect Goldy & Pouliot on deck. |

Can't believe we have people complaining about Benning making a roster spot by trading away a seldom used, $2.5m cap eating, 9 losses in a row bum to make a spot for a new rookie who appears to be ready and most likely a better puck stopper.
Holding out for Nilly to be overvalued on the trade market is a poor strategy. That is the strategy you do with Goldy. Pad and trade.

i haven't really gauged much of the reaction of fans other than here and what I have seen on twitter, which I guess is why I didn't pick up on your sarcasm, but Manvan isn't the only one that seems to be disgruntled over this trade. I personally thought the Canucks came out really well, considering they needed to offload Nilsson, bring up Demko, but there are people who think we should have gotten more. |
