A 5th from TO compared to a 6th from OTT is like a 5-10 pick difference. Is that what you’re upset about?
- Nucker101

He doesn't understand Nilsson did not want to play anymore for Canucks. Canucks had to move quick Nilsson was not going to dress tonight. Not like Benning had time to see what every team was offering.

I'm not upset

I think the return was a little low comparable to other market value trades. Why did Archie for Pyatt need to be included? I would have rather another contract space and the full cap space.

If Hutchinson himself get's you a 5th round pick then Van including Archie for Pyatt should IMO return a little more than a late 5th. Ottawa has a 5th, why couldn't Van get Ottawa's 5th. That's 31 spots.

I love how the Swiss are playing.
- A_SteamingLombardi

My boss is at home watching and he keeps texting me how well they are playing just to rub it in that he is at home and I am at work. Mostly because he hates Swedes and also because he said the Swiss are one of the top teams in the tournament before it started. Its kind of cool having a boss into hockey.

Nilsson also makes double what Hutchinson did.

Hutch, career .907 in the NHL. Nilsson, career .905 in the NHL.

I think including Archie was good will to him. He will probably get a chance in Ott's line up. A chance he never really had with us.

They prioritized moving Nilsson and replacing archie and demko in the AHL, i like it!
- neem55

There's definitely nothing to complain about with the move as it is

I told you yesterday I heard Nilsson has played his last game here . I guess it just a complete fluke that less than 12 hours later he is gone.

It probably was. Vancouver's bottom 6 depth is hard to crack.

Doesn't mean a trade hadn't already happened and maybe pending to see if Pyatt cleared waivers to be completed?

Nilsson has an .895 and costs 2.5 mil.

A lower pick because of extra real dollar required is a normal practice.

Nucker is right . The Leafs would be picking around 153 rd with their 5 th round pick Canucks will be picking 156 th instead. Fuking Benning

Michael Hutchinson for 5th round pick to Toronto a week ago. Florida got to clear a contract space.

Please don't try and tell me that Hutchinson is better then Nilsson either.

They both suck so bad that the only thing that separates them is a hole in the wall.

I think this is a clear win. A small win but still a win. Canucks get an AHL goalie for the Comets while Bachman is injured and gone all year. Pyatt cleared waivers and provides depth to the Comets . We get a 6 th round pick and get to bring in Demko.

What a travesty, this trade is, the Canucks bury Pyatt in minors and have 75k on the cap and lose a total of 1.725 million in capspace getting a goalie that is equivalent garbage as what they sent out, plus a 6th round pick gained...what a (frank)en idiot Benning is.

The idea that you could have done this and that in the trade market because this and that happened earlier is flawed logic. You do not know what people would give up for Nil. What does Benning do... hold out for something barely better based on the Hutchinson trade setting the useless goalie market?
