The point being is why even trade for Manning and add 750K to our cap when Davidson was apparently up for grabs.....they both aren’t very good so I would have preferred the cheaper option as a temp band aid - RatedR80
Theres a point where I would have had Davidson ahead of Manning on the depth charts |

At least with him we could have just walked away after the season was done |

Is there a chance your over valuing him and Im under valuing him. - herecomesGUMP
Possible? Yes. I'd posit it's more likely that you're overvaluing Simmonds, though. My critique of your suggestion has almost nothing to do with Yamamoto; it's about how awful Simmonds has been the last 3 years. For context, his goal share numbers would've been low-end on the 2010-2013 Oilers teams despite playing with overall better players on a better team. |

You know what, I am over valuing Simmonds. Its just that I have this sinking feeling, that if a trade does happen, we are going to end up with some one Simmonds like. He fits all the boxes for the Chia Checklist. I thought short term, he would help the secondary production. He does have almost a point every other game. Long term, hes going to be another Lucic, he will be paid for what he has done, over what he is doing on his next contract. All in all though we cant even afford him. Not the best move, Better than some of the other options. I read someone suggest Nuge for Simmons straight across on Oilersnation. At least I dont have a head injury like that individual. |

It took 4 years for Virtanin to just look like he belonged on nhl ice. Oilers got to be patient with Pulji. - thegooddr
Problem is, Chiarelli doesn’t have 2 more years worth of rope. He’s gonna hang if/when the Oilers miss the playoffs. |

The surprise upset of the tournament for sure. A bit overshadowed by the fact that Denmark actually scored a goal though. |

We’re not getting in. I’ve resigned myself to this conclusion. |

Same here....I suppose you could say we are 5 back of Dallas with a game in hand but that only means something if you actually win games

How about St Louis trade F. R Fabbri straight up for Puljujarvi. With Fabbri speed with McD. they could really work// Puljujarvi just needs a change. |

I mean if hitch thinks that’s the right thing to do, I won’t argue. Just kinda seems like he’s punishing the lesser thans for being just that.
Chiarelli assuming they’d outscore what they ever have before in most cases isn’t actually their fault. It’s his. Fire him and just get rid of some deadweight |

Hard no. A guy with his injury history is of zero interest. |

Well I’m already deflated about team canada so I think I’ll be immune to what happens in this game

We're all clear that Fabbri is more prone to injury than Hemsky was, right? |

Didn't know about the torn ACL.
Gonna have to go with no as well then. Torn ACL at such a young age is just.... |
